Just sold Project A :) :) :D
I put an advert on Autotrader on Saturday, 2 people rang today, first guy who showed up bought it!
For those who did't know i bought it for £350 off eBay 2 weeks ago, crappy format on eBay and rubbish pictures did't help its sale.
Sold it for £750 :)
I estimate around £100 costs in total to fix it up - So £300 profit for basically 3 full days of work. Yay!!!
Pics of it today:

I now have so much cash my wallet won't close!! ;D
I would be extremley interested if there are any megga's going though TD. Can you go all over the cars at that auction? The BCA Blackbush one lets you get in it and look under the bonnet and generally noisey all around it, but I heard some places keep it all locked until it gets driven though?
Thanks MarkDTM, presentation is everything, i put it on autotrader with the max pictures allowed of 9
For anyone interested, this is how it was lised on Autotrader (mines the first one):
http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/cars_search.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=VAUXHALL&model=OMEGA&variant=reflection&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=1000&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=nn13+6er&miles=40&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH
As soon as someone was coming down i bought a can of bumper black stuff and got that looking like new, apart from the rust patches it looked very nice. Sad to see it go, i loved the V6 power!! :(
-
well done [smiley=thumbsup.gif] that's an extra £300 to spend on your next project ::)

Well done mate delighted for you!
So you are £300 up - ideally you want to do the same again and be another £300 up.
Then take out your original money you funded and work soley on the profits - that way if you ever lose money its not technically your funds ;) If you know what i mean.
Thats the way i work with auctions eventually only working with the profits and the original capital is back in the bank
-
Yeah thats what i thought, already setup a another account online, to put the profits into.. and not touch that. - So yeah i know what you mean
Been looking on fleabay quite a few megga's up north in good conidtion but not selling, considering going up there buying one cheap then selling it back down here.... only fuel and train fare in costs!
-

Good point, If anyone named Tim joins the forum soon. You've never heard of me, and there was never a project A.
Joking aside the car was in good conidtion apart from the annoying spots of rust. Although the front wheels did need aligning properly.
Apart from that it was a top motor (arthur daily impression)
-
Well, all I can say is well done on that project mate. The car looked brilliant when you finished and how spot on was I with that valuation?
Now what is all this about a missed opportunity? Which bar steward has been at it again? ;)

I e-mailed the seller about service history on the silver mv6 you just bought... your project 11 i belive?
Grrr you beat me to it >:( , i was so tempted to press buy now....

Well as you may know McB stole the one i was looking at >:(
But got my eye on another... he better not bid!!
-
Better get that bid in early then!!! ;D ;D ;D
Best of luck with winning the auction!
-
Stole? Hang about! ;)
That listing had been running for hours. I pressed the Buy It Now button within 10 seconds of starting to read it. At that price, I can strip it and trebble my money. But I have grander plans for this car and it will hopefully live to see a few more days yet.
Moral here is the early bird catches the worm. You have to remember that I am basically a businessman and very successful too. I never, ever miss a chance.
Keep looking through the listings there are two more on there right now that you should buy. I will wait until the morning and if they are still there I will have them as well!

Only pulling ya leg McB... [smiley=laugh.gif] at the moment i don't have the experiance to just buy on sight i have to know a few things.
There is one ending soon which i am keeping an eye on... bit of luck that one will go for similar money as project A did.
-

There. Don't say I don't give you anything. This saloon would only need a bonnet, bumper and grille basically. £100 worth of bits and sorted. Nice looking car and S-plate too.
-
now thats a cracker - i doubt it will move much in ten hours as its overnight.
Why dont they come up in my area!!!

I did see that earlier today when browing....
I was just unsure of the damage inside maybe rad problems. Dunno how the local plod might react to me driving it...
I am looking at an estate at the moment on '99 ... 156k miles but no work needed, jsut poor ebay ad
-
Hmmmwatch that sort of mileage - isnt it due a cambelt at 160000....of course it depends on spec and price
-

Yeah i am budgeting for a cambelt change, also be usefull to learn as its a 2.0. So good practice for mine.
Its going for £200 at the mo with 10 mins left... 99' T or V i think.... late gls spec but estate will be popular and the smaller engine...
-
Could be S-reg. Anyway, reeserve not meant = greedy bar steward wanted tooooooo much.
-
humm went a little too high for that millage on a 2.0, i pushed it up to £400 with my bids, and given its location.. doubt there would be much in it
Maybe i will buy McB's suggestion! :)
-
Congrats on 'Project A', Tunnie.
Have we a budding McB in our midst?
-
Looks like that front ender is getting silly expensive now. By the time you fix it there will be little profit left.
