should be very interesting.A lot of strong feelings provoked.
Its all kicking off big style at BBC Television centre at the minute, big crowd of protesters, people arrested inside the building etc.
-
Will be fascinating
Also letting him on QT is the best way of dealing with him.
If he is an idiot it will show
-
cant wait to watch it.
-
He has my support :y
-
If the old saying, 'all publicity is good publicity' is only half true, the BNP will probably come out of this in a better position than they were before QT. :(

He does not deserve the oxygen of publicity
Or oxygen for that matter >:(

We all know what the BNP are really about, but the ONLY reason they are gaining so much support is because of the current administration.

I have very strong feelings regarding the recent open door immigration fiasco and the grave threat to British culture by so called multi - culturalism (a contradiction in terms imo),but I cant be bigoted against people for the colour of their skin or country of origin, which the BNP very much are.I also cant believe (like griffen reportedly does) that Hitler simply went a bit too far,or that the holocaust never happened and the chimneys at Auswich were added to the buildings after the war had finished.I f he had any way of proving that I would imagine that he would have done so,as it would change world politics with immediate effect.
-
Leaving aside any political views of BNP - whether you agree with their form of politics or not - what I really want to know is:
why don't all those tree huggers who always turn up to any protest go and get a rather job >:(
-
Rent a mob, same crowd turn up every time there some sort of protest which is remotely left wing. :y ::)
-
The rent-a-mob protesters show one thing at least and that is they haven't much in the way of braincells.
These are my reasons: For a start, the news has been dominated by the protests, thus drawing attention to the fact that Griffin will be appearing on TV.
Secondly, the sight of civil disorder on the street prompts many citizens to take an anti-mob stance, no matter what their cause. Thus, in some, that anti-mob view will translate into a sympathetic view towards the BNP.
Thirdly, most citizens, whatever their political view, would see that, had the BBC caved into the demands of the protesters (which is what some commentators suggested), it would effectively mean that our media can be censored, and freedom of speech curtailed, by a thousand or so protesters.
So, the bottom line is that this protest has been a huge bonus for the BNP.
The problem is that, as so often is the case, valid political objections have been nullified by the antics of a few dimwits, and I mean dimwits.
As to the reason for the BNP's apparent rise in fortunes to date, I think they can be ascribed - primarily at any rate - to the fact that we're currently living in a political vacuum here in the UK. :(
-
why don't all those tree huggers who always turn up to any protest go and get a rather job >:(
Why would anyone work for £300 a week when they can get it sitting on their backsides?

I don't have a problem with anyone who is here and pays their way, which Nick Griffin also said on Sky News the other day. If they come here to work and not sponge off the state then fair play to them, I have a problem with anyone who sits on their backside and doesn't try and get a job whatever colour of their skin, but I won't have it said by anyone that I'm racist for following the BNP.

Rather good watching

Yes. I used to hold him in quite high regard (some time ago now).
He has now adopted the common politician's tactic of stating as fact, what he would like to be the truth.
-
I think Jack Straw played right into the BNP by not giving reassurance to the general public.
Chosen audience, I would say so........ :)

I wouldnt accuse you of being a racist Del,I dont believe that most BNP voters are racists, just frustrated by the ludicrous policies of this shower who are running the country.
The BNP however are a racist party and so is thier leader. He is desperately trying to have a veneer of respectibility to broaden his appeal, but he is a racist,so while I would go further than you in so much as I do have a problem with huge numbers of people from all over the world arriving in this country wether they want to work or not,I still wont vote for them a I am not a racist in any way .
Although I recognise that the current popular definition of a racist will probably be hung around my neck by some people/
-
it is unfortunate that the majority of the electorate do not turn out and vote - that is why people like Nick Griffin get into power rather than staying in the shadows where they belong. It also results in us getting lack lustre politicians arriving in Westminster ready to fill their pockets. If everyone turned out and voted perhaps we would get a government that we deserve.
-
personally i thought the excellent Bonnie Greer was superb, Jack Straw seemed a bit out of it, Baroness Warsi was impressive, Chris Huhne made a few good points and Nick Griffin came across as evasive, odious and ludicrous
-
was this prog supposed to be about just the BNP? only for 20 mins it was just that, very little was covered as i thought it was normally all politics. :-/
-

It may surprise you to know BJ that Bonnie Greer was only there because Richard Littlejohn turned it down so they got her instead. He said it was pointless appearing on the panel with this bloke because even by the standards of politicians, trying to get a straight answer out of him is like trying to nail jelly to the ceiling, and he lies through his teeth.
Personally I thought she was a bit of a waste of time, and watching Jack Straw trying to get stuck in was like watching someone getting savaged by a dead sheep.
Griffen didnt do himself any favours at all imo,he was as slippery as a snake on most issues, although I must admit I did agree with what he said on one or two things.
He looked sh1t scared and way out of his depth imo.

strange, as it would have been the first time he wasn't the most hated member of a panel ;D

Similar thoughts to me but I thought that earlier on John Straw was managing better than at the end - when he got evasive
-
I'm NOT racist but until which ever party is in government do something about immigration, i'm voting BNP :-X

Yes. I used to hold him in quite high regard (some time ago now).
He has now adopted the common politician's tactic of stating as fact, what he would like to be the truth.
....indeed Chris he rapidly lost credibility after his first stint as Home Secretary then as Foriegn Secretary.
He doesn't really inspire presently as Justice Secretary either :(

....I think that's a justified comment A. Running a national administration is slightly more complex than addressing some narrow - albeit topical - concerns.
As I have previously stated, I don't think the BNP have the experience, imagination or maturity to form any credible part of a national government.

-
I'm NOT racist but until which ever party is in government do something about immigration, i'm voting BNP :-X
However look at their leader - do you actually think he has any useful ability?
In your situation I would rather spoil my paper or go for the monster raving loonies or similar.
Note: not having a go - it is democracy.
I did notice that Sayeeda Warsi did state a soft limit on immigration would be a policy of a future Conservative government.
-
I have to be a bit careful with my words here, but a member of my family may or may not be an elected BNP counciler in my home town.
Now before he joined the BNP he was THE most racist person I have ever met. He was one of those people that you avoided talking to at all costs because no matter what the subject he would always turn it around to race, colour and creed and those f***ing monkeys.
We stopped talking to him (and his family) about a year before he joined the BNP, not just for that reason, but it had a huge bearing on the fall out.
Now he is an object of mirth in our family. Can't stand the racist p**ck and his and his parties views!!!!!!

i am with KW on this one, the only reason they are gaining power is the morons who are in charge at the moment. I have no problem with immigration, as long as they tick two boxes:
1) Speak english / willing to learn
2) They want to work
Plenty of hard working people have joined the UK from elseware, its the spongers who just come here for free housing, benifits and refuse to speak english which annoys me.
-
I look at people as individuals.
I know a few UK born of Indian extraction, most are likeable people, and hard working.
I prefer these people to a lot of unemployed by choice underclass whites.
Racism is silly, you need to treat people as individuals.
Disliking people coming here to claim benefits is not racism.
Anti immigration also is not racism.
Most immigration is from the Commonwealth - they already have the Queen as their cerimonial leader.

These 'Johnny Foreigners' coming over here to exploit our benefit system, have they no shame after all we did for them.
Railways,trial by jury,expansive trade,water and sewage systems.
Ok we may have killed a few hundred thousand/million and exploited their labour and resources for our own benefit and wealth and also controlled 90% of the slave trade before we graciously deemed it unethical ,but still.
It's just like the indiginous peoples of North America being so petty that they won't allow oil drilling on Indian land, after all the British and Americans did for them, stealing their land, killing the buffalo, polluting the rivers and not to mention Genocide,or is ethnic cleansing? always get those two mixed up.
Some people are just so ungrateful.

My student loan was approx £5.5k per year thanks to London bonus.
1) I never took our a loan year 1 as i saved enough from MY JOBS to pay for my needs.
2) My car at the time was listed as £2.7k (in 2005), i part exchanged my old car and used 2k of my loan to buy the car outright.
Why get another loan when i have the capital? Also define 'blown' i spent less than half of it, on something i required for my studies. My old car was shot, and i needed a new big cruiser to do the 105 mile dailey round trip to my placement.
3) Since leaving uni, i never, never, asked my parents for any handouts. I pay for my own car maintiance and my fathers!
4) I could rent like everyone else, but i want to buy. So i am saving up for a house deposit. I worked hard at uni to recover from my poor school grades, and i worked hard at my last job. I am now contracting at a rate of £250 per day for Sky.
'Bank of mum & dad' - Does not have Son on its books ;)

Yep....interesting stuff.....
......The BNP managed almost one million votes ....and two MEP's...therefore....... Nick Griffin had every right to be on Question Time.
I would never vote for the BNP..(a deeply unpleasant ...and possibly dangerous political party in my view).......but it is dismissive of the many people who voted BNP...to say that his views should not be heard......
People vote for who they want.....that's democracy..

Yes, indeed. It is much better that these people are challenged openly. It is the only way for a democracy to operate. :y

You live with your parents .... I couldn't really give a rat's bum. What does annoy me .... and others .... is your attitude to others. There are loads of people on this forum who earn much much less that you & have a family to support, some are out of collar & still have a family to support. They don't need a yoof continually spouting on about what they have to spend & what they've spent it on.
Your views on the posties shows that you don't really have many feelings outside of Tunnie!
I & others would be quids in if I/we only had to pay for the up the keep of 3 cars in return for full food & accomodation at our parents house. Of course they provide it for you - they're your parents, I pay for my daughter's uni accom, but I don't have to.
Just remember that there is a world outside of your own. :y
