Title: The Sage of Omaha
Post by: Banjax on 26 October 2009, 14:22:16
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8322921.stm

interview with Warren Buffet tonight on BBC2 9pm - as well as being one of the richest people on the planet he's also a great philanthropist with very refreshing views on tax and social responsibility.

he's always come out with brilliant quotes like:

"I try to buy stock in businesses that are so wonderful that an idiot can run them. Because sooner or later, one will."

"I like to go for cinches. I like to shoot fish in a barrel. But I like to do it after the water has run out."

"If you're in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent."

"There are three kinds of people in the world: Those who can count, and those who can't."

Shares in his company, Berkshire Hathaway, are about $100,000 each IIRC.
