a friends laptop pad wont use as a command to click open anything, you have to use the 2 buttons. is there anyway of correcting this as i cannot find anything to put this right.
-
are you meaning the double tap on the touch pad.
Control panel/mouse and have a look to see if settings or sensitivy has/can be altered. :y
-
its in the control pannel settings to make tapping count as a command. Assuming your talking about XP.
Also its not the laptop thats important here, knowing the OS would help ;)

If you have the little touch pad icon near the clock right click it and make sure there is a tick next to "Tap to Click".

1. Make & model of laptop
2. Is the Touchpad software (normally Synaptics) installed?
If the answer to number 2 is yes, then check the properties of the Synaptics software.
Also check that the touchpad isn't the multifunction type, because if it is then there is a chance the user has dropped the touchpad in to an alternative mode.
