Too early for a 2000E. The interior & instruments tie up with the GXL badges on the front, although it does have the inside door cappings from a 2000E. Having watched Life On Mars I've noticed that it also has the later style rear light clusters even though it's an earlier car.
I'll go get my anorak! :-[

its registered as a 2000E if its genuinely on that N plate
i'd love to drive around in it!
My dad loved cortinas in the 80s, had loads! always estates tho!
he and my mum took turns writing all of them off!

So that's why you don't see any on the road any more!! ::) ;D

yep!!!
he had a red one, (estate) R reg (76ish?) and he loved it, only had it a few weeks and was the best one he'd had, most reliable, drove really well and all the lot, got nicked from where he worked at the time
he'd only paid £60 for it, and spent same again on the welding to get it thru MOT! devastated when he found it dumped and destroyed
