Quick question for anyone who has an M-Tek chip.
When fitting, guessing that the writing on the new chip is the same way up as the old to ensure its going in the right way round?
Can't see any masterpin or similar....

There should be a notch in one end, or a recessed dot on the top.

Thanks Theo, got it now. Looking so hard for something tiny that I failed to see the obvious!!

Broccie, let us know the outcome of the chip..
Is it a 3.0 or a 2.5?

Cheers guys, yes, for the 3 litre MV6. Simple 10 minute job to change.
Worthwhile upgrade, stronger midrange as well as a noticible step at the top end of the rev range, quite distinct from the multiram. More torque seen as well when wanting to do the 2nd/3rd gear uphill overtakes.
Also cleaned the air filter at the same time (it was filthy :-[ ) so that may well have helped as well.
Reset the fuel computer. It had an average of 21.odds for over 3000 miles of mixed town/spirited driving. Over the past 150 miles of similar driving, now shows 24.odds. Not a vast improvement, but improvement it is. Will be interested to see what it gets on an extended run.

I think the increase in the MPG will be from the airfilter clean as I noticed a small drop in fuel economy when I chipped mine.

Cheers EP.
Did your mpg fall because you were using the full rev range/power/torque from your new toy or was the driving style still much the same?
I'm thinking ECU and the learning of driving style/consumption/fuelling thing that the brain does. In changing this chip, does it reset anything of the learned previous profiles, do you know?

Hi Broocie
For the first week or so the right foot was always to the floor when the wife wasn't in the car but after that I have calmed down a tad and drive normally now but have noticed only a slight drop in fuel consumption, but saying that I used to get approx 30-31 mpg when I was travelling to Durham to work (approx 170 miles) but ive not done that route in a while and the only long runs ive had are to Jaime's for the cambelt party with Timbuk and to Kenilworth last Friday again with Timbuk at naughty speeds so its difficult to compare the two. As for the new chip and ECU learning the new driving style's I wouldn't have a clue, sorry
