after leaving " olive " (missing her already ) with markey mark ( a sound fella who knows olive inside out , thanx big style mate) for a very needed service we all trundled down to lincoln to pick up guys "new " car.Guy , i thought ude lost the bleedin plot when i see an old yellow pre suffix ford consul parked at the roadside an you were so excited . BUT i must admit , after tootling along at 50 mph in a car much older than me , smellin old musty car smells, seein birds in trees not just a blur of countryside , i now know where you are comin from m8 ! brought back memories of the old cars my dad used to drive, no seat belts, no radio just basic no frills motoring.NICE .....pleased i took a ride in the "yellow peril" ,forgot what motoring used to be like.!!enjoyed every minute of it !! oh bye the way ,was good to meet you "smartie" you looked like a "dodgy copper " behind the wheel of beastie tho !! lol catya soon m8.
ps if u ever want to swap beastie for olive , i could be tempted even if it cost me a bag of chips, with a battered sausage ,but i wouldnt push it as far as a tub of mushy peas !!!

I'd rather stick wasps up my a**e than eat mushy peas, they look radioactive & stink of dead camel.
Scaggy northeners!!! ;D

My dads into his classics too, mainly Fords.
He started with one of these and had it for about 15 years. Got him involved in the Ford Sidevalve Owners Club which he is now a very active member of (arranges fun runs, holidays etc)

One of his customers saw it and as he had courted his future wife in exactly the same car, offered my dad an increasingly silly amount of money till he couldn't say no.
He then brought one of these as a non running basket case and has since restored it to show winning condition.

He then found one of these, MK1 Zephyr Six with 3 speed column shift in completely unrestored showroom condition. 29,000 miles from new with an encyclopedia of history.

He sold the Zephyr and now has this and the 103E. Must admit this is my favorite. P5B Saloon (not coupe, this is much rarer)

Fantastic car, quite a luxury car in its day. One of the first cars, if not the first car to have a heated rear screen as standard. How things change. :y
I'd love one (coupe ::)) but have nowhere to keep. :(
