Title: Having a laugh???
Post by: Rock on 12 March 2007, 21:59:31
Just saw this on ebay!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Supreme-sliver-2-6-Omega_W0QQitemZ290091573107QQihZ019QQcategoryZ9895QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item290091573107

1) Is he having a laugh with the price?
2) Is that exhaust the standard fit for a 2.6?
3) It must stink in that car if 2 air fresheners are needed!

If the seller of the car is a member of this forum then no offence intended!!  ::)

Interesting to have an exhaust like that and have a towbar!

Do you reckon he tows a caravan with it?

Acoording to the tail end it's one of those very rare GSi Sport Barges.  :o
That'll explain all the rare extras that none of the rest of us got.  :-[

It's never worth that much, and in my eyes is worth less with those wheels one ........ or am I just getting too old?  ::)

7,000 watts of ICE?

Yeah, right. They'll be Bull**it watts, not RMS watts. Lovely neat amp installation too. I wouldn't have included a picture of that.

He mentions all the chavved up parts but not the mileage ::)

Oh dear, don't like the wheels, exhaust lookks silly, and yes it has twin electrics

Post by: Danny on 12 March 2007, 23:09:00
those wheels are mercedes brabus replicas

that suggests to me the owner is a low income drug dealer!

its a prime example of what NOT to do with an omega!

message him offering him £2500, count the number of swear words in the reply for your own idea of how chavvy on a scale of one to ten

Indeed, that is not only are the amps complete sh*t but that has to be one of the worst installations I have ever seen!

Muppet!  ::)

They must be, I dont see a length of rail way line acting as a bus bar to feed the 500A+ required to get that much output!

Looks like his wiring technique was acquired at Heinz filling cans full of spaghetti........... Infact he's got a 'catering' size spaghetti tin tie wrapped onto the exhaust.

I reckon he's knocked at least 50% of the true value of that car!

Spose its something of a rarity really. Its usually the older 2 litres that get chavved up like this. What a way to spoil a nice motor.

Well, the reply from the "seller" actually turned out to be a wind-up from another lister. Hook, line & sinker!

Some very appologetic replies until the truth was discovered.

The forum is email based but the offending article in all its' pride and glory is Ebay item 260095940813 if anyone fancies a project!

That green thing is even beyond Mr Wisemans skills of restoration, the
only place for that is the skip

blue touch paper lit and.... whoosh!

Gentlemen,

I have been a lurker on this list for some time now and I have always
appreciated the agnostic stance you take to Se7ens and brands and so on. I
am thus sooooo insulted by your remarks about my car now for sale on Ebay.

My 1964 Jeffrey may not be one of your fancy carbon toting Caterhams, nor a
BEC revvy monster but it supplies hours and hours of fun at considerable
bang for buck.

Now you claim it needs serious renovation or putting it in a skip. What were
they thinking the little upstart from Scotland asks. Hah, have you seen his
little car? Is that bulge on the bonnet really needed or is it phallic? I
reckon we all know the answer to that question :-)

And then there is this chap Booth, working at Reuters of all places where
honest reporting is supposed to still happen - well Mr Booth, I'll have you
know Mr James May is a very fine, well educated and well spoken Englishman
and I have little doubt that yes he would like it. But what were you
insinuating?

And finally Mr Wiseman, he seems to have way too many cars to give my poor
J5 the love and attention it deserves so I would refuse to sell it to him
even if he were to bid.

So there

Mike Burnit

I'm gonna buy it... and let him keep the wheels...as per the sales particulars

Price can be reduced if certain items are removed i.e 18 inch alloy wheel worth 1,600.00

£6000 - £1600 per wheel = he owes me £400, which will but a nice new set.  Bargain  :)

£2500 and you can keep:

Wheels, Exhaust, ICE, All the Badges on the Back, Steering Wheel Cover + anything else you've done.

You know, information such as the MILEAGE might help you sell it..

poor fool!

to ask for £6,000 for it probably suggests he got ROBBED when he bought it in the first place, and has added the mods in an attempt to hold some value on it!

When I pick this car up on Sunday, will you all still speak to me?  Also, are there any Omega Owners Forum baseball caps yet, I'll need one when I drive this car!

Kidding OK ;D
