although it may have been mentioned in earlier posts, it would save me looking through all the pages for a price if i just ask!
what's a decent price for a certified LPG tank conversion?
taking into account i dont really want a no frills crap one, if someone out there says its worth it to pay a bit more for one that they know is reliable then I'd prefer to do that!
basically I'd probably prefer the type that goes along the back seat, as opposed to the spare wheel well!
I love driving, and from changing a 1.0 corsa to a 2.0 omega it's a big difference in fuel and i'm limiting myself to using it just for work and absolutely necessary journeys purely because of fuel costs. now if £20 of LPG could get me maybe 250 miles out of it, then i can relax a bit!!
any ideas?

Split into seperate thread, as OP wanted original thread left purely for discussion of that particular conversion.
You'll still get decent answers, as Martin Imber won't be able to help himself (LPG is his passion - as is caravanning, but we wont mention that ;))
I would guess for a v6, around £1800 fitted or £1000 DIY?
On a saloon, you cannot have a 'spare wheel' type tank...

May I suggest modifying the title?

I reckon on 1600 to 1700 done professionally on a 4 and about 700-800 DIY
There may be an OMVL kit available in need of repair depending on gearbox :(

Sorry AA, just deleted your last post, as it was easier than modifying title... ;)

How much also for V6 Martin, just for completeness?

cheers for that
probably not worth me doing it to this car, i plan on changing it next year for a 2.5 elite
spending that much on the conversion probably wouldnt keep its value for when i come to sell it would it?

Probably the best way forward is to check out the LPG Association for approved installers, then get a more accurate quote from one of them.
If you still want to carry on looking for your ideal car to convert in the mean time, then at least you will be aware of the likely cost of the conversion.
You ought to be able to get 250 miles on £20 worth, of course that could change a little after a certain inhabitant of #11 Downing St gets up on his hind legs next week and does his bit for the motorist.
Good luck
S.

thanks for that advice, i'll definately make some enquiries!! I struggle to get 150 miles out of £30 petrol cos i do all my driving in town and my job is a postman!

another way to do it is buy a 4 pot car that already has LPG installed. Go for SGI type injectors....
Rip it out (carefully)
Sell the car you bought it with, usually for around the same price if you do it right.
Then fit to your car and have it inspected.
If you do it right, it could cost less than £100. :y

Anywhere from 1700 to 2000, the MV6 was 1850
Depends on kit
A kit for a V6 depending on supplier from 800 to 1000 - bits for mine would be around 850-900
