I drive an artic with the usual range & split box, i can drive a non synchro crash box, even struggle with an Eaton twin split but i cannot work out how a twin stick works.
    I'd love to have a go! ::)

Easy, if you can rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time! ;)

Watching the driver in the vid reminds me of the stories my `ol dad told me about during the war. He was in the Royal Artillery and drove big Bedford and, i think, Scamell trucks towing big guns. He said part of the test he took when he joined up was going up and down the gearbox double clutching, and all between the distance of two telegraph poles. :o Thank god times have changed and i have a nice auto box in my miggy. ;)

Front stick is the gear 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 etc and the rear stick is the spliter, there's a Hi and Low on each gear as opposed to Low range 1,2,3,4 then Hi range 5,6,7,8  :y

The rear stick does the same job as a switch on a conventional gear stick, except a switch would operate an electro-pneumatic solenoid to move a selector and the rear stick is coupled directly to the selector   :y

My Dad tought me how to drive in the fifties, as he was brought up on crash boxes, he made me double d clutch up and down the gear box (even though the car had syncros on all gears apart from 1st and reverse).

Still can't get out of the habit today if I drive a manual.
