See questions - "Q: Hi, can you tell me what work was done on the engine and why, also when has the cambelt been changed as it would have to be done a few times in 230000 miles. Thanks Rich
A: please read description it tells all and no cambelt its chain thnx"

;D ;D ;D

Looks like a lot of people suckered into what seems like a very good salesman, fair dos to him :y
If anyone does buy it I would suggest changing the cambelt on site before driving away because according to him it has 100k on the current one.. :o
-
Ask him when the engine was reconditioned, was it modified, and the cam belt and tensioners removed, and a chain fitted then?
-
Just put him straight on that. Hope he appreciates my input ;D

Or better still, ask him when the first cam belt failed causing the engine rebuild, did they carry out extensive modifications and change it to chain driven ;)

I've told him it must be a Diesel if it has a chain drive & asked for the name of the person who has managed to convert a Diesel to LPG ;D

I am sure he will ;D ;D

thats very high mileage for a 6yr old car

someone said in another thread earlier that having LPG on a car wont command a premium when it is time to sell.Anyone ever seen another Omega with 226,000 miles on the clock sell for what that one is going to reach. ::)

Auto trader has better examples with LPG for lot less money and miles, eBay people are stupid. Who in their right minds thinks they will save money buying that?
Buy one at the usual price of £1000, its going to take the average person a long time to spend £800 worth of fuel.

I've seen non-LPG CDX's sold for more as spares and repairs

I have been looking for the right LPG car for a couple of months now - E38 7 series/LS400 etc,and am quite convinced that having LPG puts several hundred on the price of most of them.
Have also seen several reports in motoring press where LPG suppliers/installers say that demand is so great that they cant keep up with it. ;)
