In another thread I have got to mention my dear departed miggie written off after a rear end shunt in October this year.
It has got me thinking about the depressing subject of just how many of our dear, lovely, Omega's have been scrapped in 2009. RIP :'( :'(
Would it be interesting if everyone who has lost their miggie friend in 2009 could submit the relevant vote to the above Poll to assess the true situation?? :-/ :-/ :-/
-
I expected mine to be assigned to the knackers yard at MOT time this year, but it lives on.Bloody thing wont die.I think I am going to have to shoot it soon. ::)

Poll added for count of Miggie Scrappage in 2009
-
How many has Mr DTM scrapped this year? ::) ::)
-
my cdx in feb i think it was, took a few things off for the elite then scrapped it. :(
-
6 for me i`m afraid. All were terminal prior to my purchase.
I like to think that 6 deaths has saved xxx others ;D

We should start an Omega Transplant Register similar to Organ Donors [smiley=engel017.gif]

How can I vote for none, I treat mine with the care it deserves :P ;D
-
Hmm, must be doing something wrong, I've rescued 2 this year that were heading for the scrapers, with the view to putting them back on the road.
So does that make it -2 in the Vote?
Chris ;)

what would be good is what model mig did you scrap.
ie...pre-f/l, f/l....2.0,2.5,2.6,3.0 0r 3.2
just a thought :y

I reacon thats the only way mine will ever contribute anything to the garden
-
Both my Migs are running well & still on the forum.(cheers Markey) Those who have scrapped a few Migs have usually "recycled" parts from said donor car to keep ours running well & in many cases upgrade them.
It's good to think any scrapped car is'nt completely scrapped as bits of it live on today in many of our Migs. :)

I know that feeling! ::)
Won't even use the washing line in case it has spiders on it. I will have to show her the army of arachnids that live in the shed one day ;D

Still keeping mine going or trying too. I have been tempted on occasions to flog it off and get something reliable. Every time I do I just chicken out. ;D
-
Just add to that, I will have to sell it eventually when I return to the UK. So question is will there be Omegas left when I get back?
-
What about an option for those of us who have NOT scrapped a miggy this year..... ::)
-
Behind where I live we have a metal recycling yard, no possibility of getting any spares or anything, the cars get delivered one day, get crushed the next, get taken away the day after. To anyone who likes their cars, its heartbreaking.
Took this pic last week:

Look a bit closer, what do you see????
Yep, 2 Miggys. Took the dog for a walk that way a couple of nights ago, they'd gone but there was another 2, a maroon estate and a silver saloon.
They must have been strippable for spares at the very least :( :( :( :(
-
Just doing some maintenance on mine and need all sorts of odds and ends
I hope there are some Omega Elites left next year. I am thinking of advertising for one so I can keep mine going!

Well I’ve been told there's only about 5 left nationally in Service, Plod, Military, Government etc. and there becoming out of service over the next few months. So pretty much no more explod left.

Think mine is on borrowed time! I saved it from flames but sadly the rust is a different story!!! :(
