I listen to this some mornings in the truck. I don't fully understand it but i can follow the coastal regions. Being childish it amuses me when they report bad conditions for a given area then say "good" as if they wished it upon them! I especially like the inshore ie Sandetti light vessel automatic. Dunno what it means, where it is or how it should be spelt but it sounds great!
Can Jim fix it for me to read it out one morning? 8-)

I listen to it regularly even when I am not sailing ::)
And if you were wondering:

"Good" refers to visibility not sea condition. :y

<anorak on>
A mate of mine does a very interesting lecture on the origins and meaning of the shipping forecast.
The online version is a good way to find your way around it. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/marine/shipping_forecast.html#All~All
You can click on each of the regions described on the map on the left and it shows you where you are looking and the forecast on the right.
Wikipedia has a nice page on it too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shipping_Forecast
