Title: If Anyone finds
Post by: Markie on 14 March 2007, 16:32:03
A very late registered MV6 or Elite whilst trawling ebay / websites etc please let me know. :y

Must be low ( sub50k) milage
Full Service History
Silver or Black Only
3.2 mv6 or elite only
02 Plate onwards

If i can find this car at agreeable price ( i will happily travel to view) then i may stay on the omega scene.

If i cant - over the next 3 months - then its Evo 6/8 for me and theres a v plate fsh 80k 3.0 mv6 going cheap  :y

What about a 3.2 veccy elite or gsi Markie? :-/

I have never driven a veccy C, i'd love to try a 3.2 Elite or the 3.0 CDTi ....

Shame the Omega finished production before they could put the 3.0 diesel in it!

I probably would yes!

Or - just been looking at Saabs on Ebay....like the 9-3 Aero's

Maybe its not a straight fite between the newer Omega or a Mitsu Evo  :-/

Anyone got any other cars to throw into the equation.....

Must be 2000 onwards well spec's and at least on a par performance wise and extras wise to my current car.

Here you go, Markie, one 3.2V6 Elite, manual, 03 plate, Star Silver, 26K miles, £4750.

If it's completely genuine, it's one hell of a buy:

That would be one heck of a buy... but I would like to know who did the manual conversion?  ;)
Remember, 3.2 retail never had anything other than an autobox.

Has to be said though, even as an auto that is an excellent price.

Hemel's about ten minutes from Luton airport.

Fly down and if you don't like it, Crazyjet the hell out of there.

Anyway, about alternatives, I've always liked the late model Mitsubishi Galant estates. The bodykitted ones look eeeeevil. Down side is they're mostly FWD with some 4WD's  think. 2.5 V6 would be the choice I think.

The silver 3.2 certainly is rare, if its a genuine original manual 3.2 as I thought they were only for the Polis, everyone else got a slush-o-matic gearbox?

I would steer clear of the SAAB. My friend had a standard turbo 9-3 with 200 odd bhp but you could'nt use the power because when it came on boost it would try and wrench the steering wheel out of your hands and throw you in the ditch. Nasty car. I would'nt expect the 3.2 Vectra much better. Too big and heavy engine over the front wheels. Stick to a RWD. Much better balance, handling. Try a Skyline 2.5 turbo RWD and put a smile on your face. :yfront

Grey import estate is called a Legnum, 2.5 V6, twin turbo with a triptronic gearbox and 4 wheel drive, or you can have a manual version, also the Legnum is considerably cheaper than the Gallant badged version

What i cant work out is why its called a VR4 when its a V6????? ::)

Wow, 3.2 manual that's not poverty spec, that's quite a find. All it wants is some MV6 shocks/springs (or good aftermarket ones) and ideally some MV6 leather front sport seats (if you can find them) to replace the DFS armchairs and it's completely sorted.

I do LOVE the Legnum / VR4's. The problem with that car ( you just knew i would find one) is they are, from what i can see, too old.

Ideally i want a car at 2000 onwards and 'aint seen a Legnum Anything more recent than 1998  :'(

I think they stopped making it around then because they started rallying the Lancer Evo, instead of the Gallant, and therefore developed the 4pot turbo instead of the bigger twin.

Shame as i know someone who has one, keep meaning to ask him for the keys  ;D
