My 78 year old mother was shopping the other day, she was in M&S spending the money we all got her for her birthday a few weeks ago, she also had £100 that she took out of the bank, she was looking around as she stood at the check-out and someone took her handbag off the trolley!! she had her hands near it but not on it, by the time she turned around she just saw someone running off!! know one else saw anything and there wasnt any camera's about either! her bag had her money, passport and house keys in it! we have had the locks on the house changed which wasnt cheap!! the police were called but as usual there wasnt much they could do! the thing is she now doesnt want to go out of the house and jumps everything the door bell rings! how do these people sleep at night? dont they realize what affect they have on the victim when these things happen? i cant stop thinking about it and its making my blood boil!
happy oppsing xmas!!!!!

No camera covering the check out at M & S?
Sorry to hear about your mom :(
-
they should lock em in a room with the people theyve affected and all the victims should have a pin(catch my drift)sorry to hear bout it :'(

Disappointing news indeed J but sadly, far from an isolated incident nowadays. :(
Please convey my very best wishes to your mother.

FFS. I bet you wana rip their face off, i know i'd want to >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Like AA, i find it hard to believe that M&S have no CCTV at the check out :o
-
Sometimes it's difficult to comprehend how cold and heartless these people can be.
-
Sorry to hear about that Jim, these braindead excuses for human beings are a total waste of space, dreggs of society like this should be made to pay big time >:( >:( >:(
-
Very sorry to hear this.
If they do have CCTV at the checkouts the chances are it will be trained on the till and cashier.

Usually fairly wide angle though.

Sorry to hear this Jim, but I'm afraid it's a symptom of the world we live in.
Do I mean deprived kids growing up to be thieves, or perhaps stealing to pay for drugs? No.
I mean that, given the chance of being caught is virtually zero, people tend to do as they please.
A very small example: I was driving back from town earlier and two cars were 'playing' with each other. Young lads at the wheel. We came to a set of traffic lights showing red which are followed, about 30 yards later, by another set, also showing red. Both cars totally ignored them, driving straight through well after they had changed. They both knew that there was absolutely no chance of there being a police car anywhere in the district, so no chance of being caught.
IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

All that i can say mate is that they are nothing but scumbags >:(,and they have got to get old there self one day.As steve said it will only get worse,as theres no deterent at all.I know a couple of brothers who are theives, and they always try to get back in prison every year as they are better off inside, because they have there xmas dinner, playstations etc.THIS IS THE KIND OF WORLD WE LIVE IN. >:(

The crooks must have left the store by an exit eventually, chances are they are on camera somewhere. Might she recognise them ?.

There must be some cctv footage some where of them surely. I would happily do five years in return for five minutes with a baseball bat and a "chat" with the scum that did this >:(

I'm not exactly "Snow White" by any stretch of the imagination, but that type of crime is guaranteed to get up my breathing passages.
Commiserations to your mum, and (other than the obvious), I wish you both an otherwise happy xmas & prosperous new year.

I`m afraid lots of the big name stores would rather keep any cctv on their cashiers and tills rather than customers as they dont trust their staff.... :-X

Is that really a surprise when the minimum wage level of today is less than what the unskilled could earn 20 odd years ago?
