My hero Michael Schumacher is back, he's signed up with Mercedes......
That's my biggest Chrismas present....
It's game on for 2010...
Butto' will love it, it'll bring out his maturity...

Your hero is shumy? :-X :-X :o
-
I'm afraid that I don't understand anything about this :-[
-
He is one of the best drivers ever but I still can't stand him :(

Think the sport has been a lot better since he left, amazing driver, but always had a bit of 'Mr Nasty' about him.
This year, 3 people going for the championship, Button, Vettle, Barrichello had a much better nature, all smiles and laughs at the press conf after the race.
I don't think he should come back, for the good of the sport.
-
I really hope the hot young drivers (Hamilton Vettel & co) really stuff him!

I agree but I don't think it will happen.

Hamilton, given a decent car should give him a run for his money

I take it that Schumy is not as popular on here as he is in our house :-X

Oh dear. Might have to turn all my attention to watching Valentino - what a lovely bloke he is.

He's the best driver the sport has seen, but he is not good for F1 as a whole.
He's a idiot... always has been. Always gets his own way, rules in the FIA are changed to suit him.
Can't see why anyone would see that cheating b@stard as a hero :o
-
Don't like Schummy but he is still the best one out there.
Guess F1 will become pretty boring again ;D
-
cant stand the man ,he got away with just a little bit to much for me to have any respect for him or Ferrari
-

I was a fan of the ex motorcycle racer, whose Dad was also an F1 driver

Having observed this thread thus far, I think I'm glad that I still don't understand anything about it :-/ :-/ :y

its a funny thing, massive undeniable tallent. Then once retired, went off too have a serious go at bike racing. Clearly a true petrol head nut case with the brain to go with it.
But yet a highly irritating personality just dripping with arrogance and being German, devoid of any sense of humor.
I really hope its a good scrap, but both our world champs beat him.
I hope;
Lewis
Jenson
Scum ;)

Think I have to disagree there. Schumy will have some PROPER competition this time around with the likes of Button, Hamilton, Vettell, Massa and maybe more. Also don't forget that at 40 years old Schumacher is no longer the young man he was when he was at the top of his game. ;)
-
At least this time he won't have the Ferrari International Assistance to help him get around the rules ...(not that he obeys them anyway .. :) )
-
Schumi will have proper competition only if his car brakes down every second race ::)
I know he isnt young anymore but still is probably the best driver and lousiest attitude person out there ;)
-
I really hope the hot young drivers (Hamilton Vettel & co) really stuff him!
I really hope Schumacher stuffs them all........!!!
Never used to like him especially during the Schumacher/Hill days, but have come to respect him and think he is a great chap and cant wait to show the kids a thing or two next year....
Roll on F1 2010.......!!!

nothing wrong with that
you don't get where he did in the sport by being nice to other drivers
in some of the races he won it was on pure instinct and will too win ( or rather Not to lose )
i think damon hill would vouch for that

Agreed.......!!
Would you sooner be strong minded, a touch arrogant and totally committed like Schumacher with 7 world championships to your name......
Or.......
A Mr Nice Guy like Coulthard with nothing of significance at all to your name.......

Coulthard gets my vote purely on the amount of women he's podged ;D ;D

Well, if having a part in Red Dwarf makes you F1 World Champion then DC has got it in the bag.......
lol
:y
-
Anyway, I don't get on here much as I'm usually busy now, but, when I do, I seem to always start trouble..... :o
TBH, I'm a big fan of Butto' and Massa alike, also a big fan of Rossi in the Moto GP, I too love Rugby. My attitude to being a fan of anything is to enjoy the sport as the sport it is, I watch rugby and whoever is playing I like to see a fair game, don't care who wins!
I'm exactly the same with the F1, if Butto kicks Shuey's ass then fair do's, I just want to see the game..
Bring on 2010 whatever, whoever.... Game on! :D
Merry Christmas :-*
-
I have watched F1 since 1977,used to be very passionate about it,my opinion on Scumacher - I hate him.he represents everything that is wrong in modern sport. He has no conception of what the word "sport" means. He was a dangerous, ignorant and arrogant cheat and should have been kicked out of the sport permanently many years ago along with the people who came from Bennetton to Ferrari with him and destroyed the soul of what once was the greatest team in motor racing.
The statistics of course say that he is the greatest ever but he could never imo be fit to to mentioned in the same breath as Senna,Fangio,Clark etc, or my own personal all time favourite driver Gilles Villeneuve.
If he is in a competitive car he will be quick and will win races.Wether he wins more championships will largely imo depend on wether he is allowed to cheat on a grand scale as he previously did,and wether Mercedes will be a team which wants to systematically cheat and ingratiate itself with the FIA to a degree whereby they know they will get away with it.Time will tell I suppose.

At the end of the day, I think he's going to struggle... After all, a lot of his races were won on fuel strategy and there won't be any in 2010 :-? :-? ;) ;)

Agreed to a point, but also alot of his races were won due to his commitment and skill......
Remember him carrying his Benetton around Catalunya for the last 2/3rds of a race stuck in 5th gear in 1995 and still bring it home 5th.......???
Could Damon have done that.....doubt it......

...........and trying to put his own brother into the pit wall at 180mph.And dozens of other incidents which rendered him completely unworthy of a shred of respect imo.
-
with jean todt being in charge of the FIA now i reckon the hun whose no fun will getaway with blue murder again

Probably why he thought it was safe to come back. :y >:(

It did shake him but then he did some tests and acheived a similar time in 5th gear in his car.

I've just heard Schuey's having a diesel engine to give the others a chance :-X :-X :-X :-X

You putting your money where your mouth is then.
MS for 2010 champ? Dont think so. Button or Hamilton for me unless they keep stuffing each other off, thats the only way MS will win.

I've just heard Schuey's having a diesel engine to give the others a chance :-X :-X :-X :-X
Knowing him and his ability to change regulations to suit him, better MPG will be rewarded with more points

Now that's lateral thinking! He'll need less fuel, so, he'll be lighter from the off... Coooooooooool! ;)

Undeniable talent but a total pr*ck. A few seasons ago he was b*ll*cked for prancing around on the podium taking the mickey out of 2nd & 3rd places national anthem so not a nice person.
Be interesting to see how he fares this coming season & how long he stays if he does'nt keep winning.

not long with a bit of luck :y :y :y
-
You should never, ever go back. It usually ends in disappointment. I'd prefer to remember him as he was...a winner at any cost.
-
always thought that f1 was the pinnacle of motor sport.
Question is, as a driver what do you do after f1
DTM AMLS Le Mans . :question :question :question
