Nice cars to sit in, father tunnie is 6ft3, i am 6ft4/5 ish, him in the drivers seat, me behind we both had plenty of room, very surprising for a coupe!
I'd be tempted if it was not for the very poor mpg and oil consumption :(

I don't think it is.
I think he's taken the pish out of Guy's good nature and spun him and a lot of people on here a sob storey. If his marriage has fallen apart then I do feel for him but to use it to get people off his back is pretty poor. The problems don't go away unless they're delt with and its only a matter of time before people see through all the bull poo.

Entwood, I agree he should have time to sort his life but he's had people's money for ages now and had more than enough time to go onto facebook via his phone or whatever, he hasn't even bothered to come here to let people know let alone apologise. I have no time for people that wouldn't even let you know that something has gone wrong but, they're more than happy to take peoples money.
And now seeing that the RX8 thing is real he should be fuc**ng ashamed!! Has enough money to splash the cash on a new car and go out on a drinking session but can't post something to someone or refund their money >:( >:( >:(

In which case I withdraw any support/sympathy I endeavoured to get for the man. If he can lash out on an RX8 he can afford to pay back the folks he's taken money off.
I also feel sorry for Guy, who has gone "out on a limb" for him and been decidedly let down IMHO.

Same, i with draw mine as well. I had the image of him not getting into his house, crashing at a mates, until he gets on his feet.
However one of views still remains, if you want dealer service, go to a dealer. Don't be surpised when things like this happen

I (and others) are watching this thread with no small amount of interest, keenly awaiting the info from others better in the know advising that this is definately and completely false and MM has no intention of defaulting on previous deals so that he can spend the cash on a replacement car and drink.....
Of course he would not think of spending other peoples cash on a car without reimbursing them first. Would he??
He would not ignore PM's and e-mails.... Would he?
Again, apologies to some if this sounds too 'clinical' an assesment/interpretation of the circumstances. Or, indeed, misinformed, as we have no counter information from MM to refute the information posted by others....

Yup... Its his hole. He can either allow it to get deeper or make some effort to fill it in, his choice. Human nature is such that if there is overwhelming evidence to the one version and nowt to the contrary - perhaps despite oddles of info thats not presented - then the majority of opinion will carry....
As said, perhaps he has larger fish to fry but its strange that he can do other things on t'internet elsewhere and not answer his critics here on OOF.

I've kept out of this so far but this is the most poignant point raised, IMHO.
Regardless of where he sits on the scale between "lost it all" and "new RX8" it is clear that he is spending plenty of time on the internet, was until recently capable of using it to advertise parts and collect money but not to keep those who have parted with their cash updated.

I, too, initially supported MM, but it seems this support, and certainly Guys endeavours on Marks behalf, was sorely misplaced. :(

You know, there's allways 2 sides to a story, and untill I have heard from Mark personally I really dont want to comment.
There are lots of reasons why people do or dont do things, but I dont understand why yourself and others are so intent to stir with the big wooden spoon when you were not actually one of the people dealing with Mark for parts.
Yes I totally understand that Mark does owe an explanation, but in all fairness it's only to those whom he is dealing with.
Only Mark knows the facts, guy has offered to try and put things right, so I dont understand why bystanders take upon them selves to sihtestir.

I appreciate the assorted feelings of folks regarding this but would ask that the chap is not condemned outright without his replying, either by PM, e-mail or open forum, to admin and other requests to update them as to whats happening.
Guy - I know that you are currently updating yourself on this thread (admin privelage to see who is reading what) and, hopefully, you have spoken to MM recently to remind him of whats happening here.
i know that, potentially, OOF is possibly waaaay down his list of priorities at the moment but, as always in life, there appears to be an alternate side re. facebook and his ability to purchase a new car.....
To others, please refrain from the quick reposte or similar. We are attempting to resolve a cash matter here and the waters can be quickly muddied by others and their tuppenceworth.

I'm really good mates with MM & always will be. Despite this i'm not blinkered. I accept there are issues with parts & money & he is at fault here. Once again i have offered to settle any issues but as yet no one has come forward with a pm & an amount owed so either get on with it or shut the break up & stop mithering on like bunch of old women. If you really have to know the Mazda is on the drip (he won't thank me for revealing this) & his old Nokia phone only runs certain apps.
Lastly, Webby, you have said he owes you no money or parts so button it cos your irrelevent comments are getting up my nose now. This has NOTHING to do with you. Either we exchange addresses & i shut you up in person or you stop gobbing off on here.

He hardly has to hide behind me. You can buy almost anything off a forecourt with a £99 deposit. As said i'll reimburse those who were barking but none come forward despite being happy to complain....either sh*t or get off the pot.

the problem is, an image has been painted of his 'life in tatters' with regards to marriage and no house and so on.
On the other he has time to browse the dealers, and buy a new car.
If he has the time to do that, he has the time to send parts people are expecting.
My view is Guy, that these people that are moaning, should have a re-think. I've mentioned it before, but if people want dealer type service, then go to a sodding dealer. People have bought parts through MM to get them on the cheap, you can't expect dealer service and reliability, buying cash in hand of someone breaking them on the side.
If they wanted the part that badly, they should have gone to a shop.
The fact he has time to wonder off to look at cars, has not done a lot of good for his profile

I just thought I'd share examples I'd seen previously of similar complaints.

Reliability is the key attribute required when selling anything.
Taking money and then not supplying is not an acceptable state to be in and if a sudden personal circumstance has an affect, I dont see it affecting more than 1 or maybe 2 sales and these can easily be sorted in the form of a refund if needed.
I am aware of the FACT that there has been a stream of complaints and issues with 2 sellers on here, 1 of which has not been on the scene for a long time.
Hence, the said person has burnt all sympathy from the majority of members here.

Ok. Calm mode engaged. Last night got a tad overheated to say the least & i didn't help by overreacting & engaging crusader mode...i like Cortinas! Guilty as i am myself screaming & shouting doesn't help alleviate any given problem, in fact quite the opposite so i apologize to any of you i was offhand with. I accept MM has issues to address & he is due for an overnight curry/drink (men behaving badly) here in the new year so if he has'nt logged on here before he will then. My offer of genuine refunds still stands PM only please. I've already reimbused one member & am happy to do so. Apologies again for my childish behaviour. My heart's in the right place but my gob let's me down at times so.....

All I know on this matter is that about a month ago I sent a Fleabay question regarding some headlights he had and received no response. That was a sale opportunity he could have taken.
On the negative side of things, the RX8 is a thirsty wee beastie to run.

Ok. Calm mode engaged. Last night got a tad overheated to say the least & i didn't help by overreacting & engaging crusader mode...i like Cortinas! Guilty as i am myself screaming & shouting doesn't help alleviate any given problem, in fact quite the opposite so i apologize to any of you i was offhand with. I accept MM has issues to address & he is due for an overnight curry/drink (men behaving badly) here in the new year so if he has'nt logged on here before he will then. My offer of genuine refunds still stands PM only please. I've already reimbused one member & am happy to do so. Apologies again for my childish behaviour. My heart's in the right place but my gob let's me down at times so.....

ive got one post to say on this matter,i havent been on ere long and have had one dealing with markey mark i pm,d him he had the parts i wanted we agreed i would go to collect the parts i did and paid him all went smooth(i do have to say im glad i paid on collection)but there is people on here he owes parts or money back for the said parts but ranting on here gets you neither now please dont read this and come back with your anger which you have every right to do if your owed but put yourself in the shoes of someone who is getting slagged off on a forum and if your having a bad time your gonna say fo@k em and to me i think thats whats happened,as for guy hes stuck his neck out here i dont know him but he sounds by this as a top bloke and i think you will in the long run get reimbursed through guy sorting it through mark(i dont think he will do it personally male pride) could be wrong but come on lets get on with christmas and enjoying all it has to offer ;) :y
