Was sent to the butchers to get a load on Monday. Bought back instead of streaky. ::)

I've had to dispose of it by making countless bacon butties. :-*

Dont be upset your bacon comes from Germany, they do fantastic pork which is much better than ours.  Dutch bacon has been on our shelves as long as I can remember and you're complaining about it now?  If you buy things from a supermarket where the only thing they are interested in is profit rather than from a butcher or farm shop who are more interested in quality then why get upset?

I just went and looked in the fridge - the smoked streaky bacon I bought in Sainsbury's the other day is marked "British".

Now I'm worried it might have come from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.  Going to have to be more careful in future...

 :) :( :( :) :(

I can't find a direct link (this the nearest I can find http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23479172-le-stink-arrives-in-london.do).

The explanation I heard at the time was that the stink was from continental pig farms.
