So it seems this guy Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (aka "Thunderpants" by some black humourists!) was President of the Islamic Society of the UCL.
Well, what's wrong with being a president of such a nice society, you may well ask?
"The university's Islamic Society last month attracted criticism after allowing Abu Usama to speak on campus – Usama has previously preached that homosexuals and opponents of Islam should be killed and women are mentally deficient. The university called off the event after protests."

Ho hum, such is life these days. :(

and this surprises you?.... like you said, the world we live in nowadays....... >:( >:( >:(

as the west develops it needs to take the rest of the world along with it imho.
I'm thinking back to that rather exasperated us general that was trying to win "heart and minds" in afganistan. He said something about the way of life, and how hard they fight, and "have" to fight for everything, be it for water supply, land, rice, poppy seeds or whatever
Impossible to get through when your basic problem each day is staying alive, and on that level i'm not overly suprised equal rights takes a back seat. Then i suppose it just spreads from there.
Wtf thunderpants and his mates are doing sticking a nose in i really dont know.

Ah the good old UCL, petri dish for those possessing an impressive amount of misplaced idealism, a troubled, seething, impressionable but nevertheless hopelessly naive spirit and proving ground to those others charged with identifying such malcontents before they became a real problem to society at large.
How little has changed. Happy days - what?
