Title: Battery Failed Vader & Myself
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 02 January 2010, 11:45:49
This morning, so off I went to Vauxhall to get a new one and it was closed.... how very dare they ;D

I have had Vader three years in Feb so cant grumble really, but my dad (well the bloke that brought me up) reckons "As soon as a battery starts failing Youth, get a new one no point in charging it!" so for once I will do as he says... just won't tell him ;D ;D

That rather presumes there is a source available!

I would tend towards his philosophy but look for slack drive belt or something not switching off before replacing.  You can often get a lot of life out of a battery before it causes real grief.

With a large automatic it's worth buying one and having it charged before the existing one fails completely though.

Over here you're lucky if a battery lasts more than two summers. This is due to the extreme heat. Then I have to buy another crappy AC Delco made is Saudi Arabia, costing £75. Not cheap for something made in Saudi.

I'm amazed at how many batteries have failed this year.....
I'm sure I've heard of at least 8 this winter!
