Title: Mobile phone Q
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 10 January 2010, 18:33:13
As Tesco mobile uses the o2 network...

Will a Tesco phone work with an o2 sim in it? or would it need to be unlocked?

depends if the handsets are locked, which i doubt, o2 never locked any of theirs, even vodafone stopped locking them.

o2 lock all pay&go, as do voda. And most other pay&go providers.

Additionally, both voda and o2 do lock certain handsets as well, even postpay.

Thanx for the replies so far guys...

Ok.....so what i really wanted to know...
I want to get a basic phone....and have chosen the Nokia 2330 classic.

Tesco sell these for £25 on the tesco mobile.

o2 sell them for £30

I have an o2 sim i want to put in it....

Will the tesco phone work? or will i have to get it unlocked?
If so, i might as well not mess about and get one from o2 to start with  :)
