I may have got this wrong but it seems that when you do a search you can get no more than 15 (ie the most recent 15) hits, and therefore potentially miss something useful that is older. In fact quite often you don't even get 15 different threads as the search picks up multiple posts on the same thread. I know you can change the box to >15 but it spits its dummy out if you ask for more.
I would also prefer it to default to search all posts instead of just the last week.
Any chance of a mod?
Cheers,
Ian

It is purposely limited to 15 due to the server resources it needs. It is probably the weakest part of the software we use.
There is a dropdown to say how far back to search. Also, a tick in the 'only display 1 result from a thread' is useful ;)

Thanks for the last bit - hadn't seen that. :y
Thing is its always going to find the most recent 15 - not the priceless gem that was posted in roman times (that would be pre facelift.. :D)
Bit of a shame as it limits the potential immense reference value of the forum in my view.
Anyway, least this sound like a moan, it isn't intended that way - thanks for proving a marvelous facility.
Cheers

We are regularly indexed by google, but due to a low pagerank not always easy to find.
Stick link:www.omegaowners.com followed by search string in google is a (rather naff, but effective) workaround...

so
site:www.omegaowners.com coolant
in google should show older coolant queries...

We currently have around 10000 pages in google's index, so it does work reasonably well
