Is this possible? Just wondered if there is anything that could be done using Frontera bits?

Nowts impossible....  Whats the track/wheelbase compare at?

I know of an MGB-GT body that sits on a Range Rover 4x4 chassis and drives like stink round my way.  Looks quite cool as well, the bodyshell suits the big wheels.

to my knowledge the Frontera (and most 4x4's) would have a transversely mounted engine, so the gearbox would be sideways - making having one driveshaft exiting in each direction easier. With the longitudinal engine mounting in the miggy I'd therefore expect a 4wd conversion to be a bit more challenging!!!

EDIT: just checked ... and the Frontera's engine IS longitudinally mounted after all!!  :-X

Most 4x4 are longitudally mounted AFAIK, certainly all the Audi quattro (with *proper* quattro, i.e. Torsen diff not that Haldex junk) as are all the Subaru AWDs and BMW "ix" models. I can't say for Chelsea tractors as I have no interest in them whatsoever.

Still, I have to ask what's the point? With a well balanced chassis there's little benefit over RWD except in poor conditions or if the car has a high power-weight ratio. An LSD on the existing setup will get 80% of the benefit with a fraction of the effort.
