Post by: eddie on 23 January 2010, 08:14:08
I find this tragically hilarious http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8476381.stm.

The owner of the company that makes them has been arrested this morning.
He was hiding out but they used one of his detectors to find him.

It does not operate by battery, instead promotional material says it is powered only by the user's static electricity.

What's that smell?

TBH, Looking at their web site http://www.ade651.com/ It's obvious their claims are pure horse-doo.

I'm rather concerned that anyone is using blatant snake oil like this in a safety critical role.
