Title: Eyesore
Post by: jereboam on 23 January 2010, 20:10:36
Seen parked in Ipswich this afternoon.

Difficult to appreciate how large it is from the one rushed picture I was able to get.  It was HUGE.

(http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll307/rehaboam/DSC00047.jpg)

Incidentally, the writing on the side said "Walkinshaw" - I've heard of them - are they a racing team or something?

It's a Mitsubishi with an 09 plate, and I think it said something like LS200 on the back, but I thought that was a Lexus.

Hope I don't ever see another one. :( :( :(

I used to drive one at work & they're good motors. A little under powered for the weight they have to lug around. We had a V6 TDi Disco too, now that's a different animal 8-) The torque curve & turbo kick in at around the same time, they bloody shift for a big motor :y :y

I don't go for 4X4's, i think they should only be for farmers & those that need them, but i must admit i did like driving it. Very comfortable & suprizingly good on fuel, even when towing around two & half tonnes of 5B recovery winch all the way to Gloucester :y

I'll bet you (like most of the country) were wishing it was a proper 4x4 on their drive 2 weeks or so ago  ;D ;D

The best 4x4 ever is owned by a guy around the block from me. He has a new Dodge Ram SRT10 quad cab with the 8.3 litre V10 petrol engine from a viper 8-)

The sound of that thing is absolutly amazing  :)

Looks very pretty, but one glance tells you it wouldn't cope with the slightest bit of adverse conditions whatsoever.

When they came out they showed one off in the mags with the reg plate "A10CYL" on it.  Later that year I saw it parked outside of the Sheffield arena when the Stones concert was on, it was parked accross a kerb corner and was flipping huge, being nearly twice the height of my car.  :-/

The old L200 "Animals" are ok but i've always thought this new version appears to have had the back end tacked on as an afterthought & is basically pig ugly. As for the low profile rims & road tyres, why? The tyres won't grip off road & the whole she bang won't go fast or handle on the road.

   A fool & his money.... ::)

The rims & tyres (along with the general body layout) tell you full well it will struggle to hold the road while it's raining, you don't stand a chance in rough/adverse terrain with them on it.
