had a new exhaust 12 dec fortunaly its under warrenty as the weld has gone and need the front down pipe including cats replacing >:( no quibbles from garage ;D repaling straight away

where exactly has the weld gone, are you refering to the exhaust flexi weld which is post cat, and before it bolts to the main exhaust?

In that case, you don't need a replacement Cat (although Vx will say you do)
You can buy a replacement flexi for about £15, take the down pipe off, and cut the old flexi out, and weld the new one in.
MarkDTM expertly did mine few months ago, might be worth dropping him a PM.
I need to do the same on father tunnies 2.2, going to have a bash at this one myself, and borrow welder from TB.
I can't remember the diameter you need though for the flexi :(

Depends, to me - 'new exhaust fitted' is cat back, not including the down pipe & flexi.
If he has had whole new exhaust, including down pipe, cat, flexi then yes it should be covered, and i should hope so as the downpipes are not cheap! :o

whoops mayube i should have made it clear complete exhaust from manifold all the way back, that why they are doing it

Makes sense, to fail so quickly they are doing something wrong, there must have been too much stresss on the weld.
