Friend has HTC HD, running stock OS, which i believe WM6.5 with Flo3D.
Whats the best keypad lock app, apparently it keeps on turning on in his pocket, and dialing people. Read someware end call button locks the pad? But sure there must be a host of lock apps out there.
Lost touch with WM these days :(

Please re-read - suspect you may have also lost touch with the English Language, not to mention Reality.
Is it about telephones, then? :)

Interesting, considering all the PM's you have sent me regarding specs of cars, and details of ones you have shown me on Autotrader, which i kindly replied in full explaining. Thought you might be above all that. I was wrong i see.

Usually hold end call to lock, touch a key and it should show a button to unlock on the screen.
Phone devices it's end call to lock, left softkey then * to unlock.
Have you told him to Please read the manual yet?

I'll forward on the end call button, they kept saying there was no way to lock it, but the last WM phone i had was a HTC TyTn ;D

WM - Windows Mobile
HTC TyTn - http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/August2006/3443.htm
Just because you don't understand something, does not mean its 'bull' ;) ::)
-
Does in my book, cos if I don't understand it now at my age, I have no need for it, therefore it is BULLSHIT
And I did work out that WM was Windows Media, but as for TyTn that is a load of TyT to me.

Ok so you don't understand it, your free to think that, but there is no real need to post that?
I know nothing about drills, but did not start posting in Skruntie's New Cordless Drills thread, 'he's flipped' just because i don't understand electronics!

You and me both young man. In fact I don't understand anything ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry for kicking of a dispute. :( :( :(
Believe me, I wasn't trying to help - know nothing about it. It was just that the proportion of abbreviations and initials to actual English words seemed rather extreme even to someone who has spent 40 years in the computer business. :)

No problemo, but i only used a couple :-/
HTC is the company name
HD is the name of the handset, its not called high definition, it is called 'HD'
OS & WM 6.5 i guess are the only ones...
Flo3D is not an abbreviation, that is the name of the software!

Tunnie, at the end of the day, if we dont ask/make these moronic posts then how do you expect us oldies to learn things.

True, but somethings i just don't ask about, like your thread on drills going into Amps and volts and which is more important and all that. I don't have any idea on the finer details of voltages, and whats best for drill output, but i don't blast into posts saying someone is talking bullsh!t, then laugh it off :-/

Alternatively, can the power button be set up as a lock button in the buttons menu?
That's how my ageing universal with 6.5 does it

think that does lock it (not got access to the handset)
On my only TyTn, that did the same thing, press the button and it goes into sleep mode. I never had a problem with it turning on, but seems a problem with the HD in particular :-/
Ta for the help though :) :y

If you don't get any joy have a wander over to Modaco (http://www.modaco.com/) they should know over there.

Earlier Windows Mobile had Lock on Todat screen iirc. TouchFlo3D sucks in all its implementation - trying to make a non Apple device act like an iPhone, and failing pretty spectacularly.
WM6.5 is a bit different though, still getting to grips myself.
Advantage of WM is that its dead easy to write apps for, so write one ;)

Oh, and if you have nothing constructive or useful to say, probably better to keep quiet ;)
-
maybe if it was my phone, does pressing and holding end call button do anything? Have no experience of the HD, used to ones with slide out keyboard.

My rom gives list of options from pressing an holding End, cant remember if lock is one of them, as I've set mine to automatically end data connection.

That option on stock roms? Did see some forums mentioning that button is customisable

Generally, yes, but does depend on the customisations HTC chose to put on
