The humble Astra usually finds itself in Group 6, the much larger Frontera usually resides in Group 10 but I nearly fainted when my Insurance company wanted a lot more for my Omega 2.0, my previously owned Carlton was Group 10, anyone know why the Omega should be awarded the hoonourable but expensive Group 13? :-?

Insurance grouping changed years ago, group 13 isn't that high now and the V6 MIG is in group 16/17.

Does anyone know of a site which lists the ins. groups for all the various makes/ models of cars?

It's a bit of a faff to use, but Parkers guide website will tell you the IG of any car, under the 'facts and figures' section.

autotrader beta also lists insurance group as well now on all adverts
