Old news Eddie. It's just that the bastards neglected to tell us just how many were stolen. There was a loss adjuster on today who has researched the serial numbers and reckons it could be as many as a million.

In my day it wasn't just the numberplate that was changed, it was chassis number, engine number, and anything else that would let the old bill trace the original owner.

Just like everything else in the UK though, let any old Tom, Dick, or Harry do the job after they've read a book or two on the subject and you end up with a piss poor job at the end of it.
