Went to a private employee screening which was showing a re-run of the the first football match broadcast in 3D. (Man-U vs Arsenal)
Now i am not a football fan, i do my best to avoid football at all costs, but have to say it was very impressive. Corner kicks had much more depth and could appreciate what goes on, same with shots from behind the goal, strange to see it in 3 dimensions, along with the crowd. When there were lots of the gayboys players gathered together, you could see so much more clearly how players were positioned.
Will it revolutionise TV? I don't think so, after 20 mins, my eyes began to hurt a little, fantastic to watch, but i think it will be reserved for special events, its not something you can watch for hours.
They had clips of other sports too, best of the bunch was tennis, that looked absolutely stunning, the angle brought so much more to the game. It was filmed from above, and was totally different to watch. Looking forward to more sports in 3D 8-)

No, but we'll get to laugh at all the mouth-breathers watching the footie down the pub with their geeky 3D glasses on. ;D

Also stops those over payed idiots getting away with some fowls, one of them fell over as usual in 'pain', thanks to 3D angle, could see nothing affected him 8-)
Until 3D can be registered in the human eye, without glasses, its not going to take off

It will make a change from programing the pda to emulate a sky remote and switching the box off just as one of the ladyboys score a goal. ;D ;D

you can, or could, watch differant camera angles on the red button, along with differant commentarys from 5live and fan zone if you like that sort of thing...
i guess all thats gone since hd arrived? havent looked for a while, cancelled sports in protest of extra sub to setanta/espn, an extra sub just to watch what you already had. Bloody nerve of the them. But then if you have a monopoly, what would you do?
Wish the BBC would buck their ideas up and compete, at least try and keep them honest.
By the way, they(sky) are now offering a terabyte hd box. A mere 250 sobs.
