Yet again annother package not arrived, bought on the 11th Jan. Loads of stuff arriving from sellers since christmas, so emailed this particular seller an didnt get a reply.
Phoned them this morning, they said they had replied to my email on Friday but not recieved by me. Lady went on to explain that loads of customers are complaining that they have not recieved thier goods, so it seems royal mail/post office have some explaining to do.
Also someone sent me a recorded delivery letter off last week and I mentioned I had not yet had a reply, only a week on so not concerned as yet. But she went on to mention she sent a package recorded delivery 12 days ago, when her husband went to track it the system said it hadnt left thier depot yet.
They wonder why we complain so much about poor service. :-/

There is a package (finally) on its' way to you. ;)
Not recorded delivery though. :( I hope that they didn't send my other item (that should have been recorded delivery) by normal post. :(

No problem. :y Hopefully it'll be useful.
Just checked the reciept and all is well (I had to send my passport off as well for some CRB check nonsense and that did go recorded).

Back on the original topic they closed our village post office a couple of years back. Alton town used to have a decent sized post office that was always rammed with people - so they closed that hoping they'd go away and stop bothering them. :(
New PO is in the corner of a branch of WH Smiths. Must have queued for half an hour to post a couple of items the other day. Got to the counter and the staff were wasting time asking customers if they wanted car insurance, etc. >:(
If you are always fighting customers off with a sh1tty stick, overwhelmed with Ebayers sending stuff, yet still have to close branches and have longer queues, despite offering a sh1te service in the first place what does that say about the competence of your management?

I can't fault Royal Mail.

I can't fault Royal Mail.
Once you have actually managed to get to the counter and send stuff, it does usually arrive, I'll give them that. Although they will use snow as an excuse not to deliver for over a week when the real problem lasted 2 days.
Could be worse, I suppose. If if weren't for them everything would come via Home Pikey Network. :-X

Well, Mr Crozier is soon off to bring his talents to bear upon ITV......I wonder what yet-another 'new broom' will bring to Royal Mail. ::)
...for, as my Postie once observed: "If it weren`t for the early-mornings, the driving/walking and all those bloody-letters; it`d be a good job!" ;D

Preprint/prepay postage, and pop them in the sorting office ;)
HDNL are rather awful, almost as bad as Amtrak were before they went up the Gary Glitter >:(

The seems to have been all over the place, I can understand it when the snow was here but would have thought it was all back to normal now.... had a few postage problems myself :(

Royal Mail is broken, particualrly around these parts. Before the (newish) Oxford sorting office (now closed (it was always on strike anyway)) opened 10yrs or so ago, the workforce used to work at Austen Rover, so are well practiced in being moaning little scumbags, and union junkies. Still, now its closed, the workforce have moved to Swindon. Guess what, that branch is always on bloody strike now.

Deliveries here have been very good, quite fast etc, AND some clown in glasgow sent me a laptop screen in a jiffy bag, that was it, no extra packing AND it arrived in one piece. OK it was still in the lid, but they are quite fragile.
The screen turned out to be faulty and I had to start a paypal claim, but that's not the post office's fault. (Just some s**t trying to pass off a duff screen as working)
