I think your right, probadly charges it up when not in use, also the back seats are independent from each other similar to the Vauxhall Signum
-
Not sure I like the interior as you loose the middle rear seat from the looks of it, but then again so worth it with a v8

I drive a Vauxhall Signum (Company Car) with a similar seating arrangment and it's ok it's not that often I carry 5 people

I have been in situations where I've had 4 mates in the car so it proves useful to have every now and then.
Does look nice though, wonder if the rear seats move like the front ones in some way.

I have a full Computer System in My Omega.
Ripped out the CD player and fitted an 8 inch Touch Screen in its place, the computer i run it off is under the Drivers Seat
Its only an old P850 laptop with 512 memory but i put a larger 60 gig drive in also ripped off the screen to make more room.
I run all my music of it Movies My GPS system and i link up my Mobile to it for hands free so i can dial in the number from the screen.
I looked at putting the screen where they have theirs in the image in front of the passenger in the front but if the air bag gos off they will end up eatting a screen and cause more bad injuries.
I got Sick to death of having Loads and Loads of CD's in the Car and lots were getting scratched so thats why i decided to have a bash at putting on in, Works Fine the whole thing cost about 150 quid thats for the screen GPS modual and software
I just have to get a surround for the screen to make it fit better than it does make it look more factory fitted

That blonde is like the female equivalent of a rusty ford Sierra, way past her prime and overdue a trade-in for a newer model ;D

Sounds interesting, I did consider something similar a while back, there is some really good interface software available for free designed exactly for this purpose, works really well with a touch screen. Main thing that put me off was the difficulty of integrating a decent size screen into the dash, it would be a lot easier with a facelift model due to the double-DIN radio. I was going to go along the route of mini or micro ITX board and case, reasonably big HD (you can get 160Gb laptop drives quite cheap now), GPS receiver for running nav software, bluetooth dongle for hands-free mobile phone connection, wireless card to connect to my home PC music server to download new tracks, plus the touchscreen to control it and maybe a keyboard tucked away for the ocsasional setup as required.
Way too much work though if I'm being honest, I just don't have the time.
-
This all sounds like what already exists in some Police patrol cars.
Radio, tracker, blue lights, VASCAR, ANPR, front and rear camera's, digital hard drive recorders, etc etc all done through a touchscreen and integral into the dash double DIN. Neat as nick to look at and reasonably easy to use.
Its the co-drivers job, not the drivers though, to ensure everyone stays safe. ;)
-
Thats what i forgot i was adding in the future.
Small Camera for Reversing you can have them installed really cheap and the camera flips the images over for you, it just attached to the screen via the Video in not the VGA in
Oh Aye and i am wanting a wireless Wifi Card to link to the home PC and or other none protected Wifi Networks :)
I have been told to only use laptop harddrive in car systems as normal ones fail after only acouple of months as they dont like bing bumped about.
Keyboard wise i am ok as the laptop has one built in, might think of extending the ribbon cable on it for easy of use.
And one last thing i would like to get done is connect the on off button on the laptop to a button to fit in a free button space i have, just not that good at soldering such small bits

Check out that keyboard!! It's like something out of Star Trek.
The Original Series!!
You'll lose some MPG lugging that around me thinks. ;D

Now, the blonde..... Wink Cheesy mmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
Think she's been under the sun bed too long for my liking, looking at her face..
That's what radiation from GSM laptops does to your skin! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Hmmmm, some spec there.....
Video calling, heads up display for the driver, looks like some sort of active speaker system in the headrests, GSM phones in the rear screens, i-drive type controller......
The doors make it look like an estate, wonder if the chassis had been extended for this, there seems to be a lot of legroom there......
I have seem an apple mini mac in the arm rest of a miggy with the screens in the back, looked very neat
I still to this day struggle to see how the Signum can be seen as a replacement for the Omega!!!
the blonde......nah, not my cup of tea

The piccys must be facelift V8's as the door trims and centre are from a facelift, windows switches look to be on the door.
Or have I missed something
