Title: Question for Gaffers

I see from your Sig, that you know a bit about iPods.  :D

I bought my 9-year old daughter an iPod Nano for her  birthday. She's now asking about a docking station.

There seems to be a huge range from the cheap (and pink ;) ) to the much more expensive.

What would be your recommendations?

Seriously, I know how to fix them but as for accessories...........

You will need an adaptor for your nano into any docking station otherwise 9 yo fingers may break the plugs/socket.  Most decent stations come with one afaik
