...he took my miggy off me this morning, all seemed well and good. I decided to plot up in Knutsford Starbucks for the 4ish hours it was gonna take, 20min from Northwich.
Unfortunately (for Pete not me) 7hrs later, after all his hard work on my exhaust manifold, (1) my HBV is the fault not the manifold (which needed doing anyway), but (2) VX have supplied him the wrong O rings so he can't finish the job! Man I didn't even mind, I felt bad for putting him in the situ!
Now lets face it - nightmare enough - I was well prepared to go home and sort it later - of course I totally respect the effort involved, and would gladly leave it at that as its a specialist job that no mechanic here in Macc would touch.
Pete had already done the job and then some - but he selflessly took it upon himself to drive to Knutsford, pick me up, and drop me home in Macclesfield, a round trip of at least 1.5hrs to make up for it! What a complete superstar. Honestly I would have got the bus, but seriously, what a star!
And of course, as I no longer needed to drive home, I even got a decent beer in...and he listened to me waffle without complaint!
Pete, I salute you.
