Title: Ebay Question
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 31 March 2007, 13:48:35
How do I change the reserve on an item?
It has more than 6 hours to go....so I should be able to  :-/

If I try to use the link on an email ebay sent me to update/change the details....the link doesnt work  :(

And if i try to alter it on the ebay site....the reserve is greyed out so it wont let me change it  :(

Any ideas?

Cheers

the time limit's usually 12 hours, but the item mustn't have any bids on in order to alter a price

According to Ebay you can alter the reserve even with bids.....if you apparently set the reserve lower than the highest bid.....it reduces the high bid to a pound below the 'new' reserve and notifies the bidders that the reserve has been reduced.....read that on ebay site....trying to work out how to do it!

normally when revising an item, you open the page as if you were viewing it normally, log in if you haven't already and I think it then gives you an option to revise the listing. The options you get will be very limited close to the end, though ...

yep, seem to remember you can't really do a lot close to the end ... on that link you gave it says

You may lower the reserve price on an item in any category as many times as you like, as long as the reserve price has not been met and there are at least 12 hours left on the listing
[/color]
... so unfortunately you're screwed  :'(
