Hey guys,
Since buying my 2L GLS back in 2005 i've received no end of help and tips from users of this forum and thanks to you i've managed to keep my car on the road for peanuts! :o) Thanks...
Anyhow, one disadvantage of being a forum member (only one mind you!) i managed to catch the 'V' bug as i found myself buying an 2.6 MV6 today... boy am i pleased i did...... grrrinnnnnn :y
I bought a 2.6 MV6 manual on a 52 plate on 64k miles for £2800 in imac condition, x4 new Continental's and full dealer history too (bar one). Under the bonet was imac, very little mayo on the oil cap and spotless everywhere else. It started well with no strange noises and drove like new! It's thanks to this forum that i found the confidence to check the car over and keep my eyes out for the obvious faults.
The seller had advertised it in the local telegraph for about 2 months with a starting price of 4k i think at first, dropping to 3095 this week. So i knew he was itching to 'get rid'! So i popped along to see it this morning and managed to barter a deal out at £2800! :o)
So my first V6 question is, please please can i join in with all the V6 fun on the forum?????
Cheers
Marc

Most definately YES.
Welcome Dude. :y

Welcome Marc. Good choice, the 2.6 is the BEST Omega engine, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! :y

Except of course for the 3.0, which is better. :y
Nice start though. Next you'll need to get one with a real gearbox. ;)

Cheers guys... maybe i need to change my name from omega200w to somthing more suitable!!! 'MV6_virgin' ???
I think (in my mind anyway) that the 2.6 is a good balance of power/economy as i've heard the 3.0/3.2 can be a bit expensive to run. Anyway enough of the cost of petrol..... i'm gassing this beast up this summer!

A 2.6 manual will be as quick as the 3.0 Auto ;) :D
Luckily I have my Senator to keep my power needs at bay, but when that goes after Eurotrip i might need more power :-X

I was very purposely taking it steady so that the coolant made it all they way ;)
However, a 25TD in standard trim, esp one with barely any turbo boost, will never keep up with 24v 3.0l Senny
