Title: Cisco VPN Client
Post by: tunnie on 18 February 2010, 18:43:47
Has broken (4.0.4), it just keeps looping on 'authenticating user' without me even entering any login details  :-/

Usually prompts me straight away for login & pin code from my dongle, but just goes straight to authenticating user, then just goes back to not connected. Won't prompt me at-all  :-/

Most issues with that client (thank god I dont have to use it any more) are resolved by uninsatll/reinstall

Netgear shite then. Rip Sky's even crappier firmware off, and put on Netgears slightly less crappy firmware.  Ensure IPSec is opened for O/G through it as well

Reboot of router did nothing, needs a re-install. Means a bl00dy call to networks tomorrow from the office  :(

If you have the install source then you should have a .PCF file somewhere in the Program Files\Cisco Systems\... folder structure which is all you need to backup the VPN profiles.  As TB says a reinstall fixes most Cisco client issues, have experienced troubleshooting a number of weird and wonderful errors over the years.
