What surface is it resting on ?? Is the internal fan running ?? Are the vents clear ??
Overheating a common cause of problems with laptops ... :)

Not exactly mine, its my daughters what she had for xmas. Its a hi-grade ::),thats all i know about it,and the surface its on is a small wooden table. :),but now it seems to be running ok again. :-/

It must be catching.
Mine started running really slow yesterday & surfing OOF was a nightmare. My CPU was running at 100% all the time & 98% of that usage was Kaspersky Anti Virus.
Removed it now & gone back to AVG free, all's brill again :y

Most av programs have an option to scan the HDD and might set themselves to do so automatically on a regular basis. That really hogs CPU and more importantly HDD access. You only need to do a scan when you first install the av software as it should be checking every file you access and write to on-the-fly.

My CPU was at 100% all of the time, i tried to stop the process, but it was having none of it.
My lappy was nearly jumped on, thrown against the wall, but i stopped my self. I came pretty damn close though.
How people can work with these abstract pieces of crap i don't know :-/
That crap Samsung Tocco gets threatened too when it freezes up.
Bring back the letter, home phone & pigeon. break these modern things off >:(
