I was a passenger in a Rover P60 a few decades ago, on the M6, when a Mini infront shed a wheel.

Went under the P60, came through the drivers side floor pan, and it was only the clutch and break pedals that stopped it coming through into the car.

With the wheel wedged under the brake and clutch pedals the driver managed to steer it onto the hard shoulder, switch off the engine and bring it to a stalled halt.

Scary.
