dont be alarmed so quickly.. if the scanners dont find anything , no need to rush..
try online scanners.. even if there is a virus, by deleting every suspicious file you would be damaging your file structure and more harmful than a virus ;D :y

hard drive back, virus gone but now(i'm on mates pc) i have no usb ports, says they are disabled. nothing works in the ports so i cant use my bluetooth dongle or my broadband dongle says there is a malfunction.
driving me frigging nuts all day trying to get it going again but to no avail

Try to backup any documents you need and format the disc.
If you want it is maybe good to first create the new partition if you don't have it ( use partition magic pro) and then format the partition with the suspected virus.
Before all this run chkdsk and see if there are any bad sectors on the disc.

cheers, ive just found something on internet as well that may help. extremely stresssful day today, had to get up at 6am and went somewhere for nothing, temper got the better of me and i flipped as usual. thats life i guess :( :(

had to go back to factory settings. couldnt load any discs, no usb ports would work and everything kept freezing. so whatever i picked up is the worse ive had in the last 12 years of having a pc. luckily i put everything on disc 2 weeks ago except for about 100 albums which i have lost. :( :)
