morning..
wake up early :o
take the clit to a service 20 kms far for changing the windscreen as it was fractured..
fill in the papers .. check the new glass.. have a breakfast.. stay untill its finished
lunch time..
then leave.. walk 1-2 kms for a shared taxi..
then to job.. have a lunch .. with a friends car come back home.. take miggy and off to the second service ;D
(some may remember my cambelt change thread..
after one month cambelt decides to give up..tensioner pulley starts to make irregular noises, so service accepts to change from guarantee)
this time I asked the mechanic to try myself :o ;D
he accepted..really fiddly job.. although he arranged the crank position somehow I managed to loose the correct positions for cams ;D and after 2 hours I hardly arranged them with the help of him.. ;D ;D
then the service chief come and checked our job.. said ok.. :y but although we arranged the tensioner to the book position I feel cambelt was a bit loose :-/)
no paying :)
take the miggy rushed to a shopping place park close to clit service.. (30 kms far from opel service) 17 : 40 :P :P
park the miggy.. go take the clit come back to place where I park miggy.. take the miggy back home..
then go for metro..now take the clit.. again back home.. 19 30 :P :P :P :P :P

1.6 is a good lump.. but normally I expect 110-115 hp if it was normally aspirated.. to increase the hp to 180 (meaning %60-65 efficiency increase) they use higher pressures on turbo..I expected long term turbo problems like 1.8T passats (as proven) but problems come earlier :-?..
would be longer life imho if they used 1.8 low pressure turbo with 150-160 hp :-/
now looking the owners of insignia drivers profile they want to pay low tax , performance car.. and they hammer it mostly to take performance for that heavy chasis and result shorter life turbo and extra problems.. I would stay with my miggy ;D and wont go for a second hand old insignia.. :-/

It's not as if GM were short of engine options at the time as they still had SAAB producing lpt engines

as I understand the new fashion is small turbo engines for low weight and low tax.. however their consumption figures are similiar and they are shorter life.. :-/
really they make the car engines a simple consumable like a chewing gum ;D

Sounds like that is one of the main components ;D
