For f(u:¬ sake how hard can it bee to get a cheap replacement battery.
Well started at the start and did my research, Thanks for the replies and info on battery's here! I now know what I'm looking for well narrowed down to a min of 85 a/hour wouldn't mind seeking cold crank amp of 800 but settle for smaller as peer guide.
Now I have used my locale scrappy for years especially as good to turn up with breaky role and plunder a little (well ods and sods at least, usual bulbs s/lighters the od screw cover), But after waiting a week for suitable car to come in with big supper big battery on it, I seeked out other merchants in my area. Yes confirmation on phone of another yard with battery needed, just to turn up to find that, ok they were closing when arrived the other day and wouldn't let me take the battery off the 3.2 jag.(hmmmm there meant to be empty of fluids ext on arrival but still no worry`s I'm not environmental health or some other H&S officer), so went home as it was getting on.
Time gose by few days or so decided to call another reputable car dismantle rs and they happily told me on phone `yes no problem sir we got plenty just pop in and have a look`, Excellent I thought will make the 20-30 mile round trip, just to arrive there today to be told that I was an hour to late as they shipped out (well back of lorry) 20tons of battery`s this morning, but don't worry we have plenty more, what`s it for` So I go on to tell him for my mig tractor `Yes still battery here for such a car` he radios one of the men in the yard to bring me a battery. True to form there was this poor little man carrying a battery out for me, hmm-again, this battery although looking almost brand new with green light it wouldn't start my little 2l petrol engine in fact I would have assumed it came off a small car 1600 down. I cant for the life of me understand why they tried to get me to purchase this as I had already told him min spec I was willing to take and this just didn't come to nearly half of this, was he expecting me to be all mouth not knowing what I was on about or are they complete numptys, cant dismiss either at moment as was first visit to them and might, probably not, try them again for something else one day. Might ask for n/s wing if I need the off side lol. :-/
Well home I trek again no battery so thought while I got a lift try the second scrappy, and on arrival asked John for the battery we discussed the other day for him just to flat refuse to sell the foooooing thing to me arrr.
So in all the battery found for sale on-line at just shy of 70 leaves all in to the door that was out of my price range would have saved me a few bob against paying friends fuel bills to run me around. And with all this said I am just short of the on-line price, and still willing to give away a perfectly good clean pug to get my battered tractor running, Well a little to far the last statment as wouldnt sell it yesterday for not to shy of a grand.
I do hope evrybody els is having more luck than me this year so far as if your not omg I feel for you

Nope probably feel more of a prat for writing it, but still wonder if just like wersal gumige I could remove my head and use the steem power as propultion for the car.
Must be simering now as can crack an efort of a joke
