Title: 150 miles on the bike....
Post by: tunnie on 02 March 2010, 18:02:04
Such a lovely day, decided to ride into London the country way to visit some old mates, also good opportunity to test my tank bag with TomTom & its custom route configured in 'Tyre'

Think i need more practice, apart from a 45 min chat with some mates in London on their lunch break, spent most of the day on the bike, 150 miles, and 3/4 hours i would say. First real blast of the year, neck muscles ache, and so does fair bit of my body  :-[

More practice needed! Going into London again on Saturday, after that think some trips to Cotswold's are needed, as the run to Isle of Man will be at least double what i have done today, maybe even tripple  :(

Build it up slowly... I managed a 7 hour day on mine but only late in the "season" and after a lot of riding before hand :y :y

I was riding a long at a steady x00 mph  ::) wondering why my neck was being to ache, neck muscles not quite in 'summer' mode  ;D

On a "Sit up and Beg" bike that's never going to end well ::) ::) ;D ;D

You'll be fine once you've gotten back into it :y :y

Yeah fully exposed to all the elements, on the upside, my arms don't ache at-all neither do my wrists, as there is no weight on them when riding the beemer.

Mainly my neck, upper body, just not used to the wind blasting against me.

Looking forward to some more runs though  :)

Sounds like a good runout!   :y

Used to have to do some very long shifts on the bike in a previous lifetime, such as the local airshow.  0530 start for 0600 muster at the base and it was not unusual to get finished after 2100 if the roads were really busy.

Of that, it was all astride a Pan except for perhaps an hour, mebbe 2, at midday (and whatever else you could blag when nature called.....)

Still miss it as well...   :(

Fortunately, I don't have to use the ZX10 tomorrow, as she no longer needs the Rover :D :D
