Just
putting me feet up and watching TV here, working hard at the office ::)
Got location location on, Loch Lomond looks stunning, bet there are some cracking roads to stretch the beemers legs 8-)

The A82 up Loch Lomond side is a good flowing, fast road but is usually very busy with traffic (usually tourist!).
It also has quite a reputation. Every weekend you read of some othe poor sod getting killed :(

oh yes tunnie!last time I was up there you couldnt move for scoobies, evos and mid-life crisis guys on big motorbikes ;D Sadly as it was a family holiday I was in the estima so could hardly indulge...

theres a good stretch at loch ness iirc on the other side away from tourist area down past the canal locks..long straight with long smooth dips i remember thinkin this would be nice on a bike

Been on exercise around there and sailing mid last year too.
The roads there are stunning, but leathal!
Additionally if you stop for more than 1 second any small bit of flesh visible to the midges will be devoured. You have been warned!
Although the cold snap will have killed more than usual :y

Go a bit further North and try the road from Ullapool to Poolewe via gairloch. I did this on the back of a motorbike and have to say it was totally awesome. Turquoise pools and lily pads, not to mention the mountainous terrain :y

Like any part of the country - thats the UK, by the way... - there are always areas that are brill and both not on and off the beaten track.
Loch Lomond is, by tourist definition, quite wonderfull but remember there are equally as many other roads that qualify for as outstanding a view as this with perhaps less traffic/headline attention??
And thats both north and south of the wall..... ;)
