Title: Not A Bad Week, So Far!!!!!
Post by: Squealey on 03 March 2010, 01:29:42
So, took the wife to sunny Norwich for our Tesco clubcard sponsored getaway on Friday through to Sunday. It was excellent, Ramada Jarvis all paid for and we had two lovely meals (Pizza Express & Bella Italia) for the total sum of £15 each as we had Tesco vouchers to the tune of £30 each so only had to pay for the wine.

Monday my brother rang to confirm his company will use me to do a LOT of running around when they move offices in a couple of weeks. A LOT is:
Sunday=Paddington to Thame,
Monday= Paddington to Cardiff and back to Paddington,
Tuesday= Hemel Hempstead to Manchester to Edinburgh
Wednesday= Edinburgh to Hemel Hempstead, must be back by 3:00 for the hire company to pick up the luton van.
Should bring in a handy grand after tax.

Yesterday: Got invited for my first job interview since being made redundent in April last year.

Today: Went for interview, think I did ok, won't find out till next week but even if I don't get it, its a step in the right direction.

Brother rang to ask if I wanted his bosses diesel VW Polo as he'd only want a couple of hundred for it, he thinks its an S reg, I say yes then try to figure out where i'll find £200 in the next few days.

Brother then rang back to say his boss is so pleased with the quote i've given him and the work i'll be doing and the fact that im in dire financial straits at the moment that I could HAVE the Polo for FREEEEEE!!!! Oh yes, and its not an S reg, its a facelifted W reg 1.9SDI.

Cant wait to get on with putting my head back on this Saturday ;D ;D ;D

Haha I've done that once or twice, most recently when I bought the car I'm driving now, except it was £600. I had to raid my fruit machine at home (got about £280 out of it; I'd been putting my loose change in for about 8 months) and break the Peugeot 306 I was then driving.

Oh Well. Spoke too soon.

Yesterday wasn't such a great day, had a pounding headache, was tired, babies were being really loud, and so I unwittingly experimented on my wifes car. This was my findings:

An Audi 80 TDi (yes diesel) will run for approx 0.75 miles on unleaded PETROL. Then it doesn't like it very much.

Taking the petrol out isn't a problem, its where do I put it to get it up to the tip. Only things I have are a caravan waste water can and one of those oil drain 6 litre cans. Looks like i'll be making a few trips later.

Balls!!!!!! That'll teach me for opening my big gob!!!!!

Ah well mate, the law of the sod cometh eh?

Still, try not to let this little setback ruin your present run of good luck.
Whatever, all the best bud!
