Omega insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month. I've done the usual comparisons and searching (incredibly organised for me as I usually leave it till the last couple of days ::)) and can't believe that the renewal premium is actually the cheapest quote I can get anywhere :o :o It's even £10 cheaper than as a new customer with them :o :o
So a big :y :y :y to Swiftcover for finally realising that they can't rip people off for being too lazy to check :-X :-X
-
i'll look into it, need to get away from direct lines bs. :y

Condition of LPG cover is it must be fitted by a professional... I told them it was fitted by a Mechanic (which I used to be) :-X ::) And they were fine.
Yours has a safety certificate so you'll be fine :y :y
Incidentally, they were also cheapest last year and only charged me an additional £8 for full business cover :y :y

just done the same on the beemer, going to pay the policy off in full to avoid stupid rate APR.
Its my for my second year on the bike, gone from 660cc to 1200 BMW, added Pillion & commuting which did not have on previous policey, and its gone down £100 :D

I'd expect it to go down... You've gone from no NCD to 1 year (normally approx 30%) ;) ;)
Having been driving for 14 years my NCD doesn't get any better now :'( :'(

true once it gets down to a certain amount its going to stay there. Just about to pay £450 for this year, thats unlimited mileage, unlimited green card use, insured keys, excess protection (get excess back, if i say drop it myself) and as mentioned, pillion and commuting :)

:o :o
Glad mine is nowhere near that - that would blow out the cost benefits for me :o

Its not much more than the Yam i had before, that was £550 when i first took the policy out :o
Reckon if i use it in the summer and commute from Surrey, i'll save about £10/15 per day....
But at the end of the day its just a toy 8-)
-
should add, could have gone down to £350, if i had not added commuting and pillion

I can't get my head round "excess protection". What's the difference between that and no excess?

I have an excess, think its £300. The protection is protection for it, if:
someone uninsured hits me
someone crashes into me and drives off
if i drop it all by myself in the garage / scrape it on the wall or what ever
Works out at £1.50 a month, if i have to claim, i get the excess back

All will still bugger your insurance next year, to the point you won'y give a monkey's nipple about £300 ;)

Yep... But paying the £300 will too. Only way around it would be ... .. .... ... ... ....... .., which is illegal ::)
-
Ahh, that's better.
-
<cough!> But, changing the subject. Isn't it a lovely day today?
Hmmm.... Perhaps I should modify my post :-/ :-/
-
Sounded good on the phone :-/
If some uninsured git crashes into me though, i get the excess back, so it pays for itself 10 fold :-/
Hope weather tomorrow is just as nice :)

To quote that pikey used car dealer who hangs around here, a "coffin dodger". Bastid ;D
And I'm guessing you're approaching mid 20s now ;)
-
BTW, Kai, you still in "Lower Beckley"?
That still makes me chuckle. So much so, we keep calling Cumnor Hill "Upper Botley" to piss of the people who live there ;D

I pay £204 fully comp with co-op with full ncd.. Wife added to it too.

My Bullet is £170. 20k miles pa, business use for both of us, fully comp, declared mods.
Ironically, the crap 2.0DTi Zafira is the most expensive to insure, and that's 10k miles pa, commuting only.
-
That's very good indeed.. I thought I had a bargain 😃
-
Yeah still here for all those bad sins I must of done in another life..... Glad after four years you still laugh about it ;D :D
I'm sure at no point I will call you a coffin dodger :y yep do you remember those mid 20's days? ::)

I've had the odd lurk but just not really had much to discuss... The general feel in here (in general) has changed and, to be honest, real life has been far more demanding on my time! Business and parenthood have demanded lots of my time, surprisingly more the former!
