Title: Bluetooth Dongle
Post by: Olympia5776 on 06 March 2010, 19:37:24
My Dell ( manufactured by Logitec ) bluetooth 2 wireless keyboard and mouse combo have started to " freeze up " in use and it's getting more regular.
Both components are unable to be used when this occurs so I'm sure the fault lies with the bluetooth dongle / reciever .
The freeze period lasts for about 10 to 15 seconds and then it clears itself. One other symptom is that at anytime a key can get stuck resulting in something like thisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss  occuring !!!
If it happens when you have hit the return key it's like watching Pac man eating your text , very frustrating .
These bluetooth dongle / recievers are available on E bay for little money but I'm unsure if they are compatible / universal  .
Would be a great shame to have to scrap both these items if it was only the dongle.
I've contacted Logitec but haven't had a reply yet.
Anyone help me out ?

Batteries going flat maybe?
Or
Try updating the software from Logitech website, but if they are Dell branded you may have to go to Dell website for that.

I use Bluetooth a lot of work - so comments are based on experience.

Bluetooth has 3 classes of power output, with 1 being the most powerful & 3 the least. Try getting a Belkin Class 1 device an have it at the front of the PC either via a front socket or an extension cable with the device around the front of the machine.

The Belkin devices ae quire reliable and we supply them to our customers ....
