Well, what do you think? :-/

I think its a fake but a Brill video :y
-
Fake, no way could a road car generate the downforce required.
-
oh dear, how many AMG Mercedes are we now going to find on there roofs in European tunnels now!! :D
-
In theory an F1 can do that.
Vids a fake for a few reasons, the most obvious being they would not allow that particular driver to pull that stunt.
Plus depending on where the tunnel is, then laws and rules in thier counrty would even allow it for filming purposes.
Good vid though, :y
-
Definately Fake, but very enjoyable! I don't think Pretty Boy would be allowed to try it for real IMO ;D :y
-
Fake - but cool ad
as Skruntie says in the 90's an F1 car created enough downforce to travel upside down in a tunnel at 200mph nowadays its less than 100mph!! :o
but it's in theory only - someone should try it......hello, is that the Top Gear production office? :y

in that case downforce is replaced by centrifugal force and its possible ( the car goes an elliptic route).. I watched this video before and now noticed there is something in the wall for the car to climb easily..
watch this, if you choose the stress test, the tunnel test is a means of verification..

Time to set the cat among the pidgeons.
I say its real based on the following clip.

Hang on a minute, hasnt clarkson allready done this on Top Gear.
-
He didnt quite keep 4 wheels on the rood though. ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

What the hell has happened there, it was Top Gear with Clarkson in a Belfast Tunnel on Youtube, posted the link it's 4th gear. Posted it again to put the top grear link on as well and it;s 5 th gear again.

What If I Want To Go Upside Down In A Tunnel? - Top Gear - Series 14 Ep 4 Highlight - BBC Two
Copy the above and paste into youtube, thats what I watched.
Edit :- It seems that putting the link inside the media link changes it from Top Gear to 5th Gear - It must be magic.

centrifugal acceleration must not be below 1 g..
and of course 2-3 g is more safe ;D

Totally agree that is feasable on reply no8 that centrifugal force will make it work with enough speed carrying into the loop.
To go back to the original theory of driving upside down, requires a fair old speed and aerodynamic downforce, so fo the SLK to drive upside down I would say no, to to a quick loop I would say with enough speed it may be posibble for a quick forward tunnel loop with a lot of cars.

I think sls can also do that because when you apply the formula, basic parameters is the angular speed/speed and tunnel radius regardless of mass (mass cancels from both sides of equation only effects when you accelerate initially)
edit :
I watched it again, tunnel also is not straight, its curved so will help the first initial climb and speed seems adequate..
-
Yep that is true Skruntie, to drive upside down for a distance is not possible
BUT shumi is only upside down for a very short distance as he is doing an elongated looping. (hope its the right word)
so I would say its true.
sorry if I've miss understood anything, I'm having a blonde moment Lol

I must get my mind out of the gutter, thought this was going to be a discussion on the preference, or not, of implants. :-[ :-[

Thats what I originally thought.
Am sure we could come up with enough pictures between us on the forum for a real or fake question fun time. :o ::) :y

Real or Fake ? I think the wink at the end of the "stunt" is a bit of a give away. ::)
