I got it from Autovaux Tunnie, it is for a Coil Pack.
Or should I get from Vx?

So NOT from Autovaux?

No autovaux is fine, as i said, you just get same Bosch part from a Vx dealer. Be careful using autovaux though, they have a habbit of selling 'genuine' parts when they are not.

Autovaux are fine for certain things. This includes cambelt kits, thermostats, water pumps, and coil packs.

What you mustn't buy from autovaux, are aux belts, cam cover gaskets, and certain seals.

Autovaux are to expensive for coil apcks, I use these:

As they are genuine Bosch (so the same as Vx or autovaux supplied itmes)

I have just had one from here:-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300383682405&ssPageName=STRK:MERFB:IID

These were recommended by Loo-knee(Daz) and apparently several people are using them with no problems....

Hi to you all, I bought a Vauxhall Omega Elite 1999 3.0ltr V6 4wks ago. As of last Saturday being 6/3/10 it starting to miss, thinking then it was petrol related as it was low. This was not the case as the HT leads were checked for the spark, as on No1 lead there was no spark so i bought a new set and replaced them all with no difference. As then on Wednesday i took out the Coil Pack and then tested it for a spark with the tool used to do that, as be it the No1 port had no spark and neither did No4 which is adjacent to No1. Where as on the Saturday prior it was firing on 5 Cyl and now as it firing on 4. As i was looking on here at the forum it seemed to be its a common fault, so as i am new to a Vauxhall that i never had before please advise me is this the problem i have to change the Coil Pack or could it be the Ignition Control Unit? Please let me know a.s.a.p. THANK YOU.

Sounds like you've tested (and proven) the DISpack to be faulty. They do normally fail across 2 cylinders :y :y

I'd replace it... I'm sure that will solve your problems :y

Thank you for your reply. And thanks for you saying they do normally fail across two cylinders. As things are then is there any point in having a diagnostic test done as this seems as said in my earlier post its a common fault? Please let me know, and thank you agian.

x300 .. stick your location in your profile ...  there might be a forum member near you who can do the diagnostic for free ..  :)

BUT .. if you go to this link ...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687

you can do one yourself !!!

HOWEVER .. it is of paramount importance that the EML light comes on when you first switch the ignition on... if it doesn't .. someone has removed the bulb to hide a fault .. :(

Thank you again, I just updated my profile as you asked me to do. Also thank you for the links you gave me to do my own tests as it amazed me. I will carry out these tests as you put foward. I am now going to take off the Coil Pack this morning ready then to insert the new one i ordered and will be with me about Wednesday this week. I will keep you posted with the self test and when received give you the results of the Coil Pack that i change. Bye for now.

Hi, I meant to say that the EML light does come on since i,ve had the car and still does. As the Paper Clip issue, i done that and as be it the light flashes as its via the links sent to show me how, when i printed of the info it says it should read 31, now i dont know if thats meant 31 flashes or its a code number that comes up if something is faulty. Please let me know if you would? THANK YOU.

The EML flashes in "groups" - if you watch the video clip it explains it better ....

but ..

31 would be  3 flashes, pause 1 flash

10 flashes = 0

so 20 would be 2 flashes, pause 10 flashes

HTH

Thank you, yes i did watch the video and i seen then the No as it states..31 and flashes as per, and as i tested it, it done as you said. So as be it then it tells me nothing apart from what it had to do. So does it mean that there is nothing in the system wrong unless it states other wise? Please let me know.  Thank you.
