What's the best stuff to use to clean the green film that collects on this stuff through the winter?

Not to sure, I use Milton fluid on plastic and metal as its, cheap, a good mould and bacteria killer/remover......it works better then the expensive stuff on UPVC etc

Idealy you want something with out any bleaching agents in it.......water and a soft brush would get it off....

for plastics i use some stuff that one of those door to door ex-cons sell for a couple of quid.  I made him demonstrate it last spring by cleaning my tables and chairs for me ;)
